Did I just ruin my paint?

Will the German stuff work on heavier scratches? I just drove through the desert and really did a MAJOR scratch job on my truck. It's a black truck - Turtlewax has a wax with black coloring, has anyone tried colored waxes?

I use it on a 2003 Yukon XL and it worked great, until it got about the 2nd or 3rd wash job. That was when I called Allstate and had the insurance cover it. I think all they did was shoot a new clear coat over it, but Im not sure. All i know is I had it back in 3 days and it looked better than the day it was new. Oo.
