Did NAPA give me the correct air filter?? BHAF or what?

I went to the local NAPA and ordered a BHAF filter. The NAPA # for this filter is 2790. The next day when I picked the filter up I was in a bit of a hurry and didn't read the side of the box till I got home. The shipping box read 2790 AIR FILTER. In small letters below it read "Manufactured for/Distributed through NAPA by WIX"

I thought Fleetguard made these filters??? That's not all! When I pulled the filter out it had a sticker on it that read "DuraLite Air Filter" I'm new at the diesel filter business. Could someone straighten me out??? Thanks for the help!!

Its made by lots of folks. . wix manufactures the NAPA brand.



Don't sweat it. . I assume you got a HUGE air filter! If so don't worry.



Should measure almost 12" in diameter.

2790 is the NAPA # for the BHAF, install it and have fun.

That's the one I have. Wix makes a very good filter IMO. The Wix number is 42790. All of the Napa numbers are the same as the Wix number, sans the first digit. At least all of the filters that they carry that are made by Wix use part of the Wix number. It is worth the humor when the hood is opened at least. :-laf Oo.

Does the Wix brand filter flow as well as the Fleetguard brand? Ive heard they dont, but not sure.



Went to pick up my "Marine" style filter, & what they had was a smaller filter in a black plactic canister that had 1 breather hole in it. Not hardly what I had expected. Can see how it would be good for marine.



Only thing else available around here is the NAPA Wix brand. Thought I read they dont flow the same.

I went to Marine Hardware in San Pedro,CA and found a BHAF that is a marine application. It is 1" smaller diameter but will flow the same. It is a cross ref for the wix bhaf. $25 bucks + tax, it came to 27. 19. That is almost half of what Napa wants. They will ship UPS and you can order it over the phone. Oh yea it is mad by Baldwin Filters(wix) part number PA2818. It is already on my truck and I see a difference in egt's -150. Must have had a little more dust on the first one than I thought... . If you guys are interested I will post the number.....
