foolkiller, I thought you said you are calling it a night? My wife is thnking I have somekind of internet girl friend staying up this late. Hey I just got back from many months of deployment in the desert and I'm cathing up on thing in the TDR world. What time are you guys going to bed? I'm just waiting for my Smarty to finish downloading software. I'm using the aftermarket injectors with stock turbo Ver. 4. 10C Data: 2. 08C Mild torque management. I was told the aftermarket injector has a mild timing advance. The pinging and rattle of the stock injector & turbo just othered me. What program are you all using?

J, I have tried SW3 for towing and found if I got into the throttle too quick I had issues, other than that I had no problems with it. The trailer was kinda black on the lower front corners after that but it washes off. I liked SW7 for running around town, helped with the BOZO bike riders we have around here. I found SW5 worked as a good compromise for around town with little smoke.

And the sound that is concerning you did not bother me. The Gen. 3 actaully started to sound like a real diesel engine with a little noise.

CR2032 battery... very common. My dog's electric collar uses two of them. Any hardware store for about 2. 50.

I had the same problem one time on my 01 about 2 weeks after I bought it. Turned out to be air in the fuel system. The rubber 0-ring around the cap on the fuel filter was bad and letting air in. Truck started for a few seconds in my driveway and then died. Couldn't restart it so called the dealer and they started to send the only wrecker big enough to tow it that they could get their hands on-a big rig wrecker. I was able to get it running just before the guy started out my way and called him off. Took it straight there and they found the problem. New filter and o-ring and all was well. I know I don't have all the technical factory gadgets that the newer ones have, but thought I'd add my 2 cents.

And yes: East coaster here at this hour. Time for work.

I thought I read here where some trucks were having this same problem with their key and or factory programming. A few of them were very sensitive and problematic. Have you called Bob to see if he had an answer?

Thank the grat Lord I made it out in one piece. My wife want me to retire now after 21 years.

Well the truck is running now. Oo. I just up loaded a new program with a little less timing advance... drove me nuts listening to the pinging and ratling to my otherewise timid/quiet 3rd Gen.

i hear you.

thanks for your service and congrats on the 21 years.

i've spent about half of the last 12 years either in theater or in transit to and from the region. 8 to go before i have your flexibility.

could be on my way back again as early as mid november.

oddly enough, i can't say i love it exactly but every other career option sounds terribly boring... . except playing for the majors ofcourse, but you have to be a little better at baseball than just being the big hitter at the annual command picnic.
