MaxCare on my 06 paid for itself twice over. All kinds of stuff... TIPM, Front and rear wheel bearings/seals, Rear main crank seal, Steering box, Power Steering pump, REC Nav head unit (twice), Rear window glass slider motor, Sunroof motor, Front upper/lower ball joints, Drivers power seat motor. Just the stereo head unit would have been $1600 x 2.

Now with my 2019 3500... I have MaxCare 8/125 with a $200 deductible, Paid $2850 for it in Nov of 2019 when I took delivery of the truck. I went to Chysler warranty direct and showed the salesman the price online, They matched it... Done deal. Later I learned that I showed him the quote price for a 2019 2500..... not a 3500, Well, That saved me some coin cause the 2019 3500 MaxCare 8/125 was priced at $3250 . I just now looked at Chrysler Warranty Direct and they are quoting $4735 for a MaxCare 8/125 with a $200 deductible, Daaaaaaammmmmmnnnnn they went up in price.

I paid $2150 for my 8/100 MaxCare on the 06' in 2008 when it had 18k on the odo.... That was directly from my servicing dealership. I did not know of Chrysler Warranty Direct back then (they may not have even been around). I bought the truck from Craigslist in August 2007... Paid $30k cash private party... It had 11,800 on the odo. The original window sticker price was $58k.
Man those numbers sound crazy. 3k and under for a 8/125k are reasonable. Above that it gets hard to justify. Max care may see a hit if they get too greedy.

I had it on my 04, paid for itself when the turbo when out and the $600 electric front seat assembly, a dozen times in the shop only cost me $100 each time. I think on the 2020 I will go for the 8/100 with the $200 deductible to keep cost down and since I only put ~10k per year that'll cover me till I think its "OK" or ready to trade up again.

I voted no never had it, but had to put a caveat: the only time we purchased Max Care was on my wife's 2019 1500 gasser and its lifetime with unlimited miles for $4,200. Would not have purchased it had it not been lifetime.

Seems like there's huge range of prices paid, from negotiated free all the way up to $4K range. Whether to get it or not has a lot to do with your confidence in the electronics and mechanics of the truck.

On typical extended warranties, seems you only get 2 more years on top 3 yr bumper to bumper. The 5yr/100K mi warranty covers basic drivetrain components.

What's interesting is seeing a lot of issues after the extended warranty expires. My BIL used to trade cars whenever warranty expired.

Cheers, Ron

I opted for the 8/100k on my 2020 with $100 deductible as the difference in cost was like a "few visits". Many of the visits on our 2011 Jeep Patriot were around the $200 range, so the $100 deductible has come in handy for me, while FCA nibbled some tiny relief.

How were you able to get for 1800$ I just was walking through what I was going to take to the dealer today as a bargaining chip and the lowest I was able to get to on my 20' was 2500$ for the 8y/100k Max Care. I will go there and ask them to give me the best they can, if its not better or same, I will just by online.

OK.. I just got a email from them also.. 8y/125k for $2700, 8y/100k for $2000 (both at $200 deductible). I'm heading up to the dealer now to negotiate, worst case I'll call em and see what they can throw in. I am ok with the $200 ded. since this is only for piece of mind and if the $10k infotainment systems goes out after 3y... then it's less that the cost of my last CD player I bought... :)

The reason mine is lower is that it's a certified pre-owned truck. So the power train warranty was already extended out to 7/100. They have special policies for that, but you have to call/email/chat with them to get those prices.

I would be shocked if you don't use it. I bet I have 10 different repairs that were covered under the MaxCare. Paid for itself probably 3X over by now. Radio unit, GPS, Front hub, turbo actuator, intake (crappy Chinese hose clamps rusted out and you can't just buy the clamps, go figure), rear wheel bearing seals, and a few other things. The $100 deductible was fine with me. Now I would probably go with the $200 deductible if it saved "enough" on the front end. I never buy extended warranties, but on these trucks it's pretty likely you will use it unless you trade your truck in when the ashtray is full.

On my 06 I had to have the heater blend doors replaced twice, they also updated the steering system to the new design... plus it covered rental if needed.

Mine has paid for itself and I still have 3yr/50K left (will run out of time most likely). DEF pump, rear axle seal, DEF injector so far...
