here is the deal... ... .

i was coming up a hill that was two lanes and i had a guy that didnt know what he was doing so i went to go around him. i had my foot in it pretty good, and was comin up on him to go around. the icelandic guy cuts me off so i had to let off the fuel pedal in a hurry and break. when i tried to go again the truck was dead. i coasted to the side of the road popped the hood, cracked all the injectors cranked it abit, tightened them up, and nothing. it was dark so i couldnt tell all that well, but there was diesel film on everything after i did it. i got towed back to the base and i have to wait until 1pm tomorrow when the hobby shop opens.

i had just got done installing a new afc spring, over flow valve, and adjusted the governor arm. i read in the 911 section to treat it to some either, what if that doesnt work?

thank you

Remember you have an intake grid heater that will get the starting fluid before it reaches the cylinders. This is an unsafe act for our engines with a working heat grid.

I would first check the fuel pressure and fuel solenoid function.

It sounds like the fuel control arm for the fuel shut off valve closed for some reason. check the fuel cut off solinoid. When adjusting the fuel control arm the set screw may have fallen out if you adjusted it to far out. The problem must be somewhere in the govenor, AFC housing, as this is the last thing you worked on and this is where all the fueling is controled.

It may also be possible you blew the AFC manifold pressure line, thereby drastically defueling the pump. Also look at your intercooler hoses, as I have blown them several times with a resulting loss of power.

Never use starting fluid! You can cause an engine fire and even shear the crank. I saw this happen once.

Finally the timing gear on the pump may have come loose.

Keep us posted.

i tore into it today starting with em simple stuff first.

first thing i checked was the fuel shut off solenoid. it wasnt working properly or at all for that matter. i held it up into position and my buddy cranked it over and she fired right up.

i took it off cleaned it up and checked the plug going to it. it was getting 15volts, and there was no resistance on its side of the plug. it just dont work. i used a piece of wire and drove home and then shut it off by undoing the wire..... hokey but it worked.

where is the best place to get one of these from?

thank you guys for the help i appreciate it.

You might be better off to get yourself a choke cable and install it in place of the solenoid. I beleive the solenoid is a pricey piece and the cable will do the job just as welland if you mount it up under the dash you also have a theft deterent.
