Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Dies after initial COLD start

After truck has been sitting overnight & is cold I'm having issues... . It starts & then dies. After a little cranking (5 sec or less it fires & runs. Any suggestions? Not an issue what so ever when it's warm... . Possible air in fuel sys?

Sounds like air Clay. The trick is finding it. Guess I would start at that new system you installed. Especially the bypass?. Maybe the VP return?. Clamps?.

That too is what I was thinking. I crawled underneath the truck last night & found a couple of Push to Lok fittings a little wet but couldn't tell if the top fitting was dripping onto the lower fitting (at the bypass). I have also read where members were having issues with hard starts at 1\4 tank when the tank line was sucking air & converted to Vulcans Draw Straw.

Last night I wiped all the fittings off & filled the tank up as it was just above a 1\4 tank. We'll see what today holds for me. I guess maybe this weekend I won't go Salmon fishing & I'll work on the truck instead...

Fuel pressure remains same as usual. The truck has sat for 36 hours plugged in & it started flawlessly yesterday. I'm beginning to think it's a grid heater issue.

I unplugged the truck last night & I'm going to see how it starts this morning, shortly. It's presently 34* outside this morning...

Does anyone know the test procedure for checking grid heaters?
