2.69 a gallon

Wake up to this?

:) Just filled up today in Rosarita Mexico for $1. 89 a gallon. Cant justify the drive down there to save $0. 60 a gallon. Tequila consumption also reduces savings.

I haved loaded about 12 semis in the last week heading that way, I am sure they will be bringing 500+ gallons of cheap fuel back to the states. ($2. 13 here in Ohio) Todd

Most of these Diesel and Gas rigs will soon be parked and/or Sold as unless you need a truck with this much power to work for you they pay there way. If you just have it cause you just want one the gas pumps will suck you dry. Remember the 70's when the economy rigs gained popularity. I think it going to be happening again. Don't get me wrong I love the new Dodges and want one But I have to really rethink this as it appears we will be paying 3 bucks a gallon soon. Usually as summer arrives fuel prices rise. Of course oil companies are making all time profits.

I paid $2. 15 this morning.

They could raise the price another 75 cents and I would still be saving more than the guy driving a gasser with this much power. Just ask my buddy with the V10 Ford :D

Don't forget to figure the total price of operating a Diesel vs a gas its not just the current mpg, remember that cummins cost around 5,555. 00 more from the start so your buddy with the V10 may actually be saving more than you depending on how many miles driven/ yr and how long you keep the rig before trading for another.

V10

The gas V10 won't last as long as the Cummins. Besides the fuel filter cost and a couple of quarts more oil, what extra diesel costs are there compared to gas? (Not including the initial cost of the diesel option)

In reality my 01 Cummins does not cost me any more than a gas engine would have and I get 17 MPG in town. Now compare that to a V10. Oo.

Now would I go diesel or gas if I purchased another new Dodge truck??? Most likely diesel. The Cummins is a hard engine to beat. :D

Muleskinner, How many miles on your 01? It appears you keep your truck longer than some As many seem to trade in every 3 years or so in their case They are not benifiting with the long life of a diesel The trade-in value is more for a diesel but if you don't keep a diesel for at least 200K you are not really benifiting When I bought my first diesil 3/4 ton my [(first diesel was a cummins but it was a 160 in a 62 Mack, 10whl) actually my first diesel was a tractor] Don't get me wrong I want a New Cummins But I sure hate to give up my 84 Ford 250 4x4 6. 9 as I only have 70K miles on it, its been great and no computers to mess with But the new cummins is so sweet I am just waiting to get just what I want. Joined this site to gather information and everyone is very helpful. When I bought my truck fuel was cheaper but I figure I just now broke even for buying a diesel as the extra money for the diesel I had to go about 80K miles to break even of course that was when diesel was cheaper than diesel I am disappointed that now that if I order now I will get a G56 transmission I am now considering to find one the way I want it on a lot with the NV5600 as with fuel prices going up these trucks won't be moving as fast

Around here we're looking at $2. 60/gallon.

As far as choosing what to drive? Drive what you like. Life's too short to worry about an extra $5-10 per tank... .

I bet that I'll be commuting to work on my dual sport this summer, though :)

I've got 60,000 miles on it now. I keep my stuff clean and well maintained, as I am a neat freak when it comes to my vehicles. (Among other things) The truck is paid off and will most likely be with me for a long time. I tow my 28' horse trailer with it also. So far I've only had one warrantee claim. A VP44 that went around 47,000 miles, just after I installed my Edge EZ.

Is shipping included if you order over the phone with a credit card? ;)

Hell, even if you paid shipping some of you guys would still be ahead!

don't forget at 3 bucks a gal you can run b100 thats 100% biodiesel with no mod to your engine. made from your local soybean growers here in the USA. and you can tell opec where they can stick their nozzle... ... .

$2. 14 here in Albuquerque. That's up 17 cents since I filled up on Feb. 24. It will be a while before I get bitten because Junior holds 130 gallons thanks to Transfer Flow. Oo.

I have a question. This past weekend I met a federal fuel inspector who told me it was illegal for him to test private vehicles. He stated that he only had authority to test federally registered over the road vehicles, & that it would have to be a commercial 1ton or higher rated vehicle to require registration & federal ID # . So if a private person filled their vehicle with off road diesel there would be nothing he could do. Does anyone know anything about this??????
