Diesel $1.89 a gallon

I weighed 25K going to Sin City the other day with a severe head wind... not under 20 mph, granted my load was 13' 6". However, it did cost me over $500 to get there. Now, how many of you GASaholics could have done that for less? Las Vegas fuel was almost $2. 40/gal so I finished topping off and drove all the way back to central Texas (1335 miles one way) with an empty 8K# trailer (read sig. and you'll know how I got home w/out stopping for fuel). The fuel issue is nothing but government racketeering. No, the big trucks won't shutdown as long as the company the drivers work for are paying for their fuel, but if they did shut down for 2-3 days this country would seriously stop and think about whats going on. Could you imagine a Flying-J or a Pilot truckstop w/out a supply truck waiting there to fill the tanks... . they would lose thousands and thousands of $$$$$ a day without a big truck there to supply their tanks. The same goes for all Wally Worlds, convenience stores, JC Penny stores; etc. , etc. If the 18-wheelers would shut down for a week, yes, even I would suffer from it, then things would really change around here... . TRUST ME!!!!! That bunch nazi's that we call our gov't would have no choice but to lower the cost of things. Take that thought to bed with you tonight and just think about.

Just filled up today in Rosarita Mexico for $1. 89 a gallon. Cant justify the drive down there to save $0. 60 a gallon. Tequila consumption also reduces savings.

We're paying about 2. 45/gal I think, about time to find out again. Stupid Bush and his gov't. I'm all for bio fuel at this rate, not gonna be much more $ soon, and I'm all for sticking it to Bush.



I'm used to the midwest farm prices, this is rediculous! As I speak, I'm working on getting a motorcycle to get me around. Majority of my errands and even to/from work most days, I don't really need a big truck to get me there, Honda CBR it is!



Yes, the $/gal is also an excuse so I can get the bike. But seriuosly, as far as I have to drive, I'll have to put stabil in my tank just so the gas doesn't go bad before I use it! At 40/45 mpg, and more convienant parking, why not! And It'll be fun!

OK Guys, Be happy.

It is over $3. 00 here in Kailua-Kona, the big island of Hawaii. Lucky for us it is a small island.

Usually we are about three months ahead of you in fuel prices.

Look for $3. 00 fuel this summer, especially in the state of Washington.

My wife and I vacationed in Kailua-Kona in November. Beautiful place and fuel at that time was similar@ $2. 95-$3. 00 a gallon. I was amazed at all the Cummins everywhere with all the ranches up in the hills and all. Fair amount of Fords too but very few Chevys. Paid $2. 62 today here in San Diego.

I have been watching the price of regular at the local Valero station. It is right where I come off the freeway so I see it all the time. Diesel is not sold there but at other places is doing about the same as gas re: price increases.



Two weeks ago on Monday the price for regular was $2. 42 (rounded to nearest whole cent) . On Wednesday it was $2. 46. On Friday it was $2. 49.



Monday of this week it was at $2. 57 and tonight it was $2. 67



$. 25 cents a gallon increase in less than 2 weeks. Hang on folks, this is going to be a real ugly summer for fuel prices.



Diesel here is going from about $2. 50 to $2. 70 a gallon

In 1994 I was trying to justify the extra cost of the CTD to my dad and showed to him that it only took 140,000 miles to pay for the diesel option.



At that time diesel was . 20 less per gallon than gas (In KY). to drive 100,000 miles @17 mpg cost $5,823 and gas @14 mpg cost $8,500 netting a savings of $2,677 just in fuel (I never factored in maint costs).



At todays prices those same 100,000 miles would cost $12,941 @ 17 mpg. In gas a truck getting only 14 mpg would cost $15,500 to go 100,000 miles. (prices in MO are about the same for fuel and gas)



Still saves $2500 per 100,000 miles in fuel costs. How is that possible? 4 mpg more in my truck than the same model year gasser.



Just figures though, ask any ENRON accountant and they will tell you you can get numbers to tell you anything you want.



I'll keep the diesel... . for now.

I did the same thing when I purchased my 94 CTD, but now it is ALOT different!

The price difference here in Utah where I live is . 40 per gallon more than gasolene!

Yes I feel sorry for those of you that live where diesel is more expensive than gas. I was not sorry to see NY in my rear view mirror when I moved out here. At least MO's fuel prices are close to gas.
