Yes I did... dont know why the last two post didnt notify me... . forgive me... . its been a crazy last couple of weeks here.....





Got it back on the 26th of last month.



I tested the unit on the bench... and it held pressure with in our specs. I pulled it apart and could not find any issue with why your pressure was dropping. Gear looked good, no scuffs on gear base. No debris in the check ball seat and spring seemed normal. Pulled it down to the motor, and all seemed normal. No rust on the upper bearing or washer (which means you had it installed with the weep hole down... which is good).

well... ... . i havent got the gauges fixed autometer is being dumb and not wanting to send me a new harness and i dont really want to pay like 100 bucks 4 1... my mechicnal gauge i havent tried to put the antifreeze in the isalotor yet because i dont really know how any suggestion???but the day as of when the guage quit it was still low so idk i talked to the owner of jestersridez,scott and he said maybe i need to get a 200 instead of a 150???i dont kno... if i had the water fuel seperator would it help or make a diffrence i am willing to buy something cause i am really not wanting to ruin this new hot rod pump... let me know thanks

First off, you dont need a 200 GPH unless you want to run 30 PSI or higher. The pump you have, even at low pressure, is giving you way more than you need volume wise.



As for you isolator (Pancake Style):



Plan A --



Make sure you have thread sealant on ALL pipe fittings!! Take your time with this.



You need to start with the diesel side. There should be a bleeder screw that you can open up to purge the air (Only crack open or you will have a MESS!). The screw just needs to be in the upward position to allow the air to rise to the top, to the bleeder screw. Run truck until you do not see any more bubbles. Tighten screw.



Once the diesel side is ok, shut the truck off and move to the Gauge (Coolant Side). Make sure you have the isolator with the gauge side facing up. Slowly fill the isolator until its full. Tap lightly with a screwdriver handle until you get all bubbles out. Install fittings and gauge line. Remember thread sealant. I have never filled the line to the gauge with coolant, but some do. I found this is not necessary because the small amt of air in the line will not affect gauge operation as long at the isolator is 100% full on the coolant side and no more air is allowed to leak in.



Plan B --



Remove isolator from truck. Place on ground. Using a 3lbs sledge hammer, adjust the outside of the unit until shape is changed into a more compact unit. Use a heaver hammer if needed... .....



Pick up isolator and store in the closest trash can or until frustration is needed to be vented.



Install a needle valve inline and snub down until the valve is just cracked open. Run diesel directly into the cab.

Seriously though..... isolators cause nothing but issues for me here. IF they are installed correctly, they work great! BUT they some times stick or leak down causing pressures to read funny or low under WOT. When i used to install for a living, i had to mess with more than a few after the fact... .



ALSO some are using silicone fluid instead of engine coolant. Seems to work better from what i have heard.

i am using antifreeze... so is it is easier to just get rid of the islator... so then u run the plastic tube from the guage to the jegs fitting right???let me now thanks

That is what you want to plumb inline. It gives you a cut off if you need it and also snubs the shock from the VP-44.



I find direct diesel to the gauge the best for watching fuel pressure. I have never personaly had an issue with fuel leaking.

ok dan got some new news got my fuel pressure gauge working went with plan A haha but anyways got it hooked up to the jegs fitting between the ip and the fass pump at idle got like 17 cant drop it below 14 this is good right???so does this mean that the autometer electirc gauge in the side of the ip it reading wrong ???i still have it hooked up but autometer is sending me a new harness FINALLY after a little arguing so soon i will have 2 fuel pressure guages 1 on the ip and the 1 inbetween. :--) haha... the new mechicnal gauge is an isspro but anyways what do i need to do next??thanks Seth

I would be very happy with thoes pressures... and now things are starting to sound normal with your pump.

That is fine for the fitting. That will give you the reading what you VP-44 is seeing.



Remember that VP-44's are VERY hard on electrical sending unit. AND mechanical gauges if you don’t get a snubber or needle valve to reduce the fuel pulses.....

I would always trust a direct mechanical over an electric gauge... ... your pressures are fine... .

so i am good ready to go no more worries????i am going to hook to a sled very soon any helpful ideas... i hook my brother 1999 ford powerstroke all the time but its got a dual disc clutch and also bought injectors yesterday and and are goin to put in and dyno its at schied... . is dynoing it hard on it of will it be ok???
