The internet is a strange place.

Low ET at Bowling Green 2004 and 2005, Low et at Muncie 2004, IRP 2005, Low ET Scheids 2004, low ET Atlanta 2004 and no credit anywhere.

4 first place finishes out of 6 races (not a pass, but a race where you got to finish to win) and no mention.

Only Pro Street truck to make a 10 second pass this year... at BOTH events no doubt... again, no mention.

David you are doing a fine job, congratulations on the record . good job of driving also

I don't get the credit here, unless the tuning time counts on my dyno. LOL

But Darren Morrison and Jeff Garmon should.

David,

All those Georgia boys deserve the credit, and that includes you also. I think since we don't hear from them, they sometimes get overlooked, but they do have the fastest single, and group, of trucks in there class out there right now.

Are they not TDR, or any other website, members or just choose to stay low?

Ted

Ted, Jeff is a member, not sure about Darren. Both feel the internet doesn't help them make money (work) or make HP (fun work). It is really a time thing but I am working on them to take part on my site.

I guess the point was more that for years folks have been wanting to lead the pack on the strip. I and others have said that Jeff Garmon would make you competative and probably make you competative for less $$$. Darren took the chance and look where he is.

This sport is getting expensive. Take every opportunity to go fast for less if you can and when I see someone going fast already, and they are not even in the conversation it kinda makes you

but want to cheerlead

I think thats my word I used for Comp a ways back. He's learning  . Comp talked a world of smack and then didn't even show up for either major event last month. I don't even think his truck will ever run a race again. I think you're just a cheerleader for the owner of the truck. Get off it, back up your 8. 72.

Well, wait, that might not work either, since Smith grenaded the ATS trans he put behind one of Scheid's engines.

just for the record i didn't grenade an ATS transmission. the only thing i got was the front planetaries and clint took care of all parts by next day air. now one thing i did grenade was the block of my motor. :{ the ATS transmission seems like it is going to be a great thing with the standalone computer that they have now if i could ever make a pass.

All the ya ya about only Schieds , Enterprise and Piers being the only one that can make power is coming from people that don’t have dogs in those hunt, as they them selves don’t build anything

Well That's a pot shot at most everyone on the TDR. Believe me... . if I had the funding I'd have a truck like Kent Crowder, or Haisleys or some of the other sweet pulling trucks out there. Not all of us have the cash laying around. BUT we do our research.

Piers is a leader in this industry, from what I understand, he's been at the forefront of the Diesel Bombing wave. He is STILL trying new things. Scheids, EEP and Haisleys are all trying new things..... I hate to say it, but yes the little guys like you Comp are trying little things. The problem I see is... the little guys... . would benifit from a big guy who can say... . Been there Tried that.

I agree Physics is Physics. Moving just a truck or a 40,000lbs sled down a track is quite smiliar... . with the exception of the launch. Sled pulling you want Wheel Speed... . Drag racing you want traction... . and oh ya... wheel speed. :-laf No someone is gonna chime in and say "but sled pullers don't shift!" Ahh but if you payed close attention at IRP this year... . there were many that did... ... The Automatics are starting to do better and better in the sled pulling world, IMHO. So now what about the "rev gain" that Comp is talking about... . those trucks do it just fine. My whimpy little 350hp has no problem sled pulling, starting in first all the way up to 3rd gear at 2800rpm and back down. Nothing special about my engine.....

Dont you just drive the truck?

I wonder how many other people here could jump behind the wheel and go just as fast or maybe even faster, in the same (truck) you drive. I could think of a few... ...

Shoot, I doubt that... ..... He has like 467 years in drag racing experience and knows several famous drag racers :-laf :-laf

The problem here is not engine power building technology- it's the transmission end of things we keep finding more power and the trans industry has to catch up to us... ... .

And Comp does have his gasser racing experience, but just to be safe Greg- you better make sure that truck is locked up when I'm around:-laf , I may jump in!Oo. :D :-laf :-laf ... .....

We were right behind them in the staging lanes, and got a video. I timed it, and it is about 6 seconds from the final stage beam until the launch. That is a lot better than a few others out there.

Could it be the Driver's experience? What I mean is; you just don't long line a large barn door and bring it up on the deck, You have to rely on your experience before boating a 400 lb Halibut. It's like Boxing, you just don't work your sets on a heavy bag then three weeks later try to fight Tyson…Or, you just don't draw pictures of dragsters then, expect do be proficient driving it… Scott/Dustin, Ernie needs your help :-laf

not you I would have to say

Driving is the least part of my responsibility on this truck, most any one could be trained to drive adequacy, I do feel because of my years of experience wheeling various race cars, I am good at what I do, and if a less experienced driver were to have been in the truck during several of the on track incidents , the truck would have become nothing but a pile tin foil . You are under the opinion , that its easy to drive a race chassis with a good deal of frontal weight bias .

Now as to what else I do on the truck , I do 100 % of the work on this truck, I do 100 % of the engine building , I do 100 % of the engine and drive line R&D. Docs organization builds the pump and injectors .

I work for Doc , although I do not receive any monetary compensation , I am dedicated to the program . I enjoy racing ,and a challenge, and the people that are in the Dr. performance organization are some great people , but it is his truck and money . what is the big deal. Go and find some one to pay you way in the track to watch me , Why are you jealous , do you hold your own accomplishments so cheep, your only avenue of hold up you on self worth is to continually belittle my good fortune, that because of my experiences , and abilities I have landed a fast ride . I get opportunities to like this because of years of working and paying my dues .

You had your chance for that at IRP, but you didn't show after you said you were going.

As far as me, I am happy were I am at, but the things I say I am going to do , I do. You?
