Northern Minnesota / Wisconsin

dyno days in Des Moines, IA this Saturday 6/16

I would be interested. I think if you could rent a track you may have better luck getting first time racers to come out- I would think there would be less pressure and more people to get advice from? Just my . 02.

Thanks

Mike

I think this is a great idea! I commend you guys on working to put this together. I would work to attend an event like this, and if you need any help for anything, let me know.

There is a cheaper way to just have a few of out and help you along, without all the pressure. Andy and I went to the Grove in Litchfield on Friday nights. Here is the deal, you pay 35. 00 and run all you want, no prizes no huge pressure, just some fun against your pal. So if you ever wanted to head out Andy or both of us would more than game and show ya some ropes. I was out there learning the new LED's, I am not use to them and we had a stick verses auto deal to figure out. Plus it is a nice place to just visit and mingle with folks. You will still get a reaction time, 60ft times and 1/8 of a mile times. The announcer is great too, since you listen on your radio in your truck, he makes some cool comments about our trucks.

I just looked up DIR and found it is an NHRA track. You need to get a hold of the NHRDA and get the ball rolling. Oo. When I was in Billings they were looking at getting more tracks / regions added to thier roster. Billings is as far east as the NW division goes and this was the first year there. Other than the NW there is a NE division and a Florida division of the NHRDA. They would like to see and get more regions up and going. I told them about the tracks in Minn and they said they need a local person to do the leg work to get the track / local details worked out. I can't remember the NHRDA guys names though. Then they have contigincey prizes for 1-3 place for having the stickers and or product of thier sponsers on your rigs.

You need to contact them "NHRDA" and see how to handle it. I would be in for the 1/4 also.

Billvo,
Andy has already spoken with the General Manager of BIR. Any sanctioning body that might be needed for this will be spoken to once a demand has been found.

Thanks for the advise though, this will be the first All Diesel event of this nature that will be put together in this area.

The Demand would be hard to guess who or how many show. At Billings there were about 30 something diesels there and most were from Oregon and Washinton. To put on an all diesel show only would be a hard thing to do with out starting small and seeing what the showing would be. That is why in Billings they added the diesel class to a normal NHRA weekend for starters. All went well and smooth. It will grow from there to a possible diesel only event.

Link no worky there RD. but as far as the NHRDA goes me and brother Fletcher talked in depth about it. I'm trying to do this with out bringing in another sanctioning body, unless NHRDA is diffrent from the DHRA as far as demanding part of the gate and such. as for what billv was saying i know this event wont be a all diesel day but we gotta start out small and grow.

Hey this sounds like it should be awesome either way. I know I would be very interested in running along with a couple friends. We been talking about going to some tracks and trying it but a day with a bunch of diesels would be pretty cool. Hope we could get this together for a late summer race. Keep it up guys. Mike.
