Competition PHoto Caption

Its time for the 4th annual Diesel Drags at Mason Dixon Dragway in Hagerstown MD. Its a DDRA points race as well. There is also a test & tune for all vehicles at the same time. We need to get a good showing of Diesel powered cars and trucks so that in the future it will be a Diesel only day at the track. 20-30 isnt enough to dedicate the track to that event. Hope to see you there.

I'll be there. I hope the rain stays away unlike last year.

The seating closest to RT40 is wide enough for camp chairs, so if you don't like sitting on hard planks, take your comfy folding chair along.

Don't forget to wear long pants if you are racing - in case its a hot indian summer day. They do not allow racers to wear shorts.

If this thing gets a crowd like the Fall Brawl and Spring Fling does - Mason Dixon is only 1 hour away from Dillsburg - it just might turn into a Diesel only event soon.

Whats better than seeing a bunch of diesel pickups puke black coal the whole quarter mile? Or seeing/hearing some Peterbuilt, KW, Mack..... with 10" stacks rolling down the track and Jake Brakin' back to the time slip booth. Sweeter than Yoo-Hoo:D

13.77 @ 104mph

well Saturday got rained out, so the event was held today. I would say there were over 50 pickups running, at least 12 semi tractors, and a handful of dump trucks. A great turnout, BUT there were 5 classes of "normal" drag racing. It took about 2 hours from the time the diesels made a run until they got to go again. Too bad it rained on Sat. , because it was only to be diesels and a test and tune day.

I made 2 runs and then had to leave.

first run was 13. 77 @ 104 and the second run i had the OD turned off for some dumb reason#@$%! and turned a 14. 07 @ 94. I really need to get more runs in and find that "sweet spot" with the turbo at the line. I think i could drop it down to the low 13s - maybe high 12's ????

I don't know who won the event.

I know of a few trucks running low 12s. I don't know if a full size pickup got in the 11's or not. I only stayed for 2 passes. I know Huff N Puff was in the low 12s.

I really hope next years event is Diesel Race and Test and Tune day for the gassers - just how Saturday was set up to be. 3 out of 4 years the date was moved due to rain.

My best run of the day was 11. 75 @ 114. 2. After a long nite of Halloween partying, just couldn't get my I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER together. Thanks Steve B.

that was a good time Steve. Which F1 injectors are you running? Do you have Billet shafts?

my biggest concern was launching too hard and busting a shaft in the transmission - i don't have billet. I built the boost to 10lbs and then eased into the throttle when the light went green. My PS62 had some catching up to do because of that, but once it lit the truck took off. Both of my runs had terrible reaction times - . 562 and i think a 3. 3 ( the red light in the other lane threw me off and i got )

JM, I have 6++'s. And yes all billets. Thanks Steve B.

I saw a 2wd black dodge run a best of a 11. 2 @ 124mph. Not sure who's it was but their was a ginger driving.

Jason. .

I would be willing to bet the wheelman of that truck is one of those "Comp461" hired gun types. You know the ones, they resemble loose cannons. :-laf:-laf

I also heard that the wheelman put to rest the tailgate up,down or removed theory when he did this with the gate on and up.

BTW...

One thing we all know is that with the et and mph that the black truck ran on fuel alone it wasn't Wade.

Steve. .

Congrats on the great pass and are you not a lttle to old for the Halloween partying deal?????... ... ... . Andy
