Competition KC Dyno Meet Results

Competition 2nd Annual DPM diesel Shootout

WINNER!!!

I'm sure the total results will be forthcoming, but I thought I'd at least tell you all about the winner of the heads-up competition:

Mr. Bill Fletcher ran a 12. 18 in his little 2WD!!:--)

He's set up with twins from PDR/NWCustom, and runs a Suncoast trans.

This was his first race with slicks. Apparently they work... :D

CONGRATULATIONS Bill!!! You and Willie have really done your homework...

Second place truck was Nathan (IdahoCTD), also running PDR/NWCustom twins.

Hey,

Congrats Bill and Nathan!

Thanks for the up date, my brother and I had to leave around 6 on saterday. Lots of cars running. How many passes did you get?

Thanks to all, it was a blast to watch.

Just to clarify things a little. My twins were made by myself and Jason of NW Custom. They aren't for sale by PDR.

That aside I ran a 12. 50 @ 110mph on my first run (took it easy), A 12. 29 @ 111mph on my second run, and 12. 36 @ 110mph on my third run. The brakes crept on me while trying to build boost on the final run putting me at full stage on a pro tree:{ . Never the less I dont think the truck could of out run Bill's. Congrats to Bill for knocking over a second off of his times, in a week, with the addition of slicks.

I wonder were Bill got his Pump, the idea of the suspension mods and the slicks from:p

Congrads to all of you on a job well done... . you guys are making mid to low 12's look easy now!

Jim

That was Bill Fletcher and his son Will (Junior to me). There 2wd std cab 95 ran a 12. 18

It was very cool to watch!!!!!!

My favorite run of the weekend was halfway thru Fridays runs when Nathan and Opie showed up and ran head to head!!!!!!

Dont quote me on the numbers but they both ran in the 12. 4's

It was an excellent race!!!!

Rhonda ran great and did not break

Mike Ramos drove the Power shop truck (an auto) to great times!

Rip broke the triple digit barrier with a 102 mph pass!!!!!!

We had a few trucks run into problems a couple trannies one turbo and one VP44.

Jesse took home two trophies 2nd place Show n Shine and Third place in brackets!!! (note to self I owe him $50. 00 for the shifter)

Hey Juice you will love this a Chebbie took first place in the brackets!!!!!

We also had a guy with a wild drag semi who took second in brackets (he did some very cool burnouts!)

Bill Fletcher Took The big dog shootout and the 5 and a half foot trophy home!! 12. 18 that was amazing!!!!!

We had a great time all weekend.

It was nice to meet Opie and Nathan Finally (Both great guys) I saw Dezlpwr's truck but never got to meet him.

Peirs & Louise, Paul, Rip & Tammy, Jesse, Sly bones & Rose, Bob Wagner, Morgana, Samamish Bob, Lucky Jeff & Stephanie, Will & Bill, Sam & Billie, Mrs Hoss, Rusty, MikeR, Evan, Ol Smokey, Lenny, Rhonda Thank you all and those who's names I may have missed

And a special thanks to Randys Off Road for putting on a Great!!! event!!!!!!

The Raffle was awsome Two exhaust systems, several AFE filters and housings, gift certificates, Floor mats hats, shirts, and tons of other stuff!!!!

I can't wait for next year, we hope to have a moble dyno and sled pulls next year.

The track was very happy with the turnout and the way we conducted ourselves, A few of the track sweepers were unhappy with the excessive exhaust smoke

I guess they don't mind rubber but hate diesel smoke!!!!!

WE HAD A BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

C'est la vie!

Rest assured, Jim, Mr. Fletcher mentions your name pretty much every time he talks about the white truck!!:) I'm thinkin' he's a pretty lucky guy to get that pump out of your hands!!;) I also know that Bill always gives credit to the folks he's learning from, whether they be Jason Burton, Jeff Garmon, Jim Fulmer, Piers, or any other person who's willing to share information.

I put myself out of the competition in the first round of eliminations by cutting a . 499 light (yeah, it's always a good idea to push the envelope  ), but I was also having truck problems... :( They'll be solved by Diesel Thunder, I hope, and I'll be back "on my game"!! Not that I won't "red-light" again... :D

Randy did a great job organizing this race; for anyone who hasn't tried it yet, you should know how difficult it can be to coordinate between race tracks and "potential" racers, get trophies, etc... It was great as always to spend time with Piers and Louise, Pat from BD, and all the other diesel-heads. Also got to watch "Hoss" work! That man really hustles!:) I would definately attend this event again!

It was a shame to see Lenny from DDP in Monroe have a problem. I was looking forward to seeing that high-horsepower truck "do its thing"!:( Bummer as well to see the other guys have breakages, but *alas* that is the name of the game...

Sidebar: Sorry, Nathan, about incorrectly identifying you as a PDR twins guy; my fault... It was my understanding that there were originally 3 sets of twins built toward making a NWCustom/PDR product: yours, Opie's, and Jason's. I have not compared them side-to-side, so didn't realize that what you run is not representative of the PDR product... My apologies!

Anyone wanting to see what PDR has for twins, I guess look at what Bill Fletcher, Piers, or Jason have... For now, I'll just have to sit back and drool with envy! :{

No problem. I just didn't want someone to call PDR and ask for the twins I have and not be able to get them. I did have one of the original sets of twins that Jason and I made (40 and 3B). Actually Jasons was the first 12v and mine was the first 24v. The next set went to Doug "Jetpilot" and the next to Opie. The set PDR sells is PDR40 and a PDR HT3B. My new setup is a PDR40 and a B2.
