I am not a mechanic

Hi Scott,

I'm glad to see that what i was thinking wasn't so out there after all! The one thing I'm worried about is if something does happen and a shop has to work on it, is it going to be a can of worms cause it's not stock? I asked Cat if putting the C7 in instead and they said because the 3116 is mechanical, to change over to electronics would be very costly! Then when another shop checks the Vin# and see it had a different Eng, they might refuse to work on it! I just want a dependable toter and have a piece of mind!

Anyway, like to see your finished truck. So keep me posted.

I thought I would bring back this old thread, maybe some of the newer members might enjoy it. I have not seen the OP on here in years but if he is still a member an update would be nice!

I hate that the pictures are not saved on the older threads, that's half of the story.

Oddly these were my first posts here in 7 years. Flipping through this thread I see a few member names that are sadly no longer with us. Man...

Scott was a great guy, got to know him some from my days as the local tdr chapter pres way back when. He was up at Rocky Mountain Cummins working there during the day and working on that dragster with his son at nights and on weekends. He would occasionally bring that thing to a local event now and again as well as got RM Cummins to support some events for us as well. Haven't seen him in years. I knew he had some serious health issues and to be honest feared the worst very glad to hear that he is still around.

I just posted a link to this thread on Scott's facebook, hopefully he'll chime in!
