Don't know what it sounds like or the quality, but a lot of people seem to be happy with the Jardine system. How do they compare in price? Check out Jardine plus shipping for a comparison. Also, read the signatures for Jardine users. I believe one is Big Bob. Good luck on your decision.

JR2, when my DD exhaust arrived the shipping label was from Jardine. I'm not sure if the DD is now the same as the group purchase Jardine. My DD ordered exhaust came with a chrome turn down pipe and a small muffler (approx. 1 ft long). The latest Jardine seems to come with a straight, non chrome exhaust pipe, and has a long muffler (approx. 2 1/2 ft long). My truck sounds like a big rig while the new muffler sounds almost like stock. Do a little checking before you order. I helped Amsoilman2 put in the latest Jardine 4" setup and Jardine told him he could have the short muffler if he wanted to exchange - he deceided the quiet muffler was good. Don't know if this has been any help but you might want to ask questions before you buy. Good luck!

After reading this, I got a bit curious...
DD sells it.

HVAC sells it for $31. 00 less.

Jardine sells it and ships it from Wyoming to NY for another $51. 00 less.

If this is really the same system, wow!

JR2... check out this site... it is an additional $69. 00 cheaper than above. Don't know who makes it though. Maybe they would tell ya if you called.

The Jardine exhaust is also on the group purchase website for a cheap price.

Hey guys. I remember when talking with Lawrence over at DD and him saying that they no longer sell the Jardine system. They didn't like the fit/finish, and Jardine stopped sending the chrome tip, so DD changed to a system designed by them in like June or something.

They usually have a pile of piping in their shop, so if they aren't bending it themselves, they get it in bulk.

Just FYI.

Rob- I emailed dirtcheapdiesel about there exhaust and this is the respose I got:
We have great price on parts. Tailpipe exits in stock
location. Sounds like big rig more. Muffler is made by yellow jacket.
Not Jardine. Hangers are welded to clamp, you clamp to pipes. We are in
Pahrump, NV, but no store. Mailorder only. We will have systems drop
shiped to you from warehouse where it sits. They are not in stock in Nv.

Has any one used this system?, or heard of Yellow Jacket mufflers?? I can not buy one sight unseen...

Sorry, I have never heard of that muffler, and personally, I agree... I would not buy one without talking to someone that has or seeing it myself. Oh well, I tried!

My Jardine including shipping was under $455. 00. I removed my stock exhaust and bolted it right on by myself in 2 hrs. 15 mins. including cutting the tailpipe off about 3" to install the Monster Tip from Geno's. I have the 30" Magnaflow muffler, not too loud and no drown in the cab. Looks great. Sounds AWESOME! Just like a big rig.

Maybe Vaughn MacKenzie will give his view of it. He was over yesterday, we went to a vacant road where I let him out and I made an acceleration run by him.

I am very happy with the Jardine.

Is the Jardine system a mandrel bent system, or does it just use compression bends?

I'm currently debating between it, the BD, and the Banks systems. Banks is $550 plus shipping, Banks is around $800 because it's stainless.

Right now, Banks is in the lead for longevity...

Rob

Rob G - The DD exhaust is warranteed for life so no longivety problems there.

Does any one care to comment on the DD system... ...

The Jardine system on Big Bob's '99 has nice smooth mandrel bends and appears to be high quality. Hangers are welded on. It looks pretty much identical in quality as the JRE shown in the picture of this thread:

Geno's 5" Monster Tip thread

The Jardine Bob has exits at the same angle as the JRE in the picture. I don't know if Bob's exhaust came with a chrome tip or downpipe or not, but he put the Monster Tip on his like pictured in the thread.

The 3-4" reducer coming off the turbo was welded on nicely and had a good transition. Not as nice and smooth as the Banks I've seen, but close.

As Bob mentioned he let me out at the side of the road and blew by me. . . sounded very good! Louder than stock, good Cummins basso, but without the sharp edge and brappy throb my 3" straightpipe makes (and less turbo whine). In the cab drone is next to nonexistent, and pretty quiet overall.

If you want the best, go for the Banks. It is definitely a step or 2 above the Jardine. For the best bang for the buck, the Jardine is hard to beat. That is what I've decided on, except I'll probably get it with the smaller muffler so I can make more racket #ad
.

Vaughn

The Jardine has a lifetime warranty.

It did not come with a chrome tip or down pipe. Thats why I got the Monster Tip form Geno's.

Vaughn,
When I talk to Matt at Jardine before I ordered my system, he mentioned that they were not selling the system with the small muffler any more because of the whistling sound it had. He also stated that they were not selling the straight pipe (no muffler) any more because of the noise complaints. But who knows, you might be able to talk him into finding another short muffler that works better than the original one they used.

Should I assume that no one has the DD exhaust system???
Does anyone have the Stan's headders system? I found them throught their new banner ad on this site??

I have the DD system and am very happy. I am fortunate enough to be close so I went up to Vegas and had it installed by them also. Every piece was fitted and then welded. When they got to the back of the truck they asked me to come out to the shop area and show them the exact angle that I wanted on the chrome turndown. I have had the system for awhile now and have never had the slightest rattle or clunk. Everything fit perfectly. I don't think you would be disappointed.
