Competition Pulls in Texas?

Competition Dyno Day in Tacoma 02,02,02

Now you guys have a new mark to catch! 683. 3 on the dyno Saturday. DTT automatic transmission and all!

6 of the 8 trucks over 400hp were running DD parts, and three were running DTT autos. The others had manuals. It certainly looks like the DD/DTT combo is the combination to have.

:D

the proper # of valves....

That would be with how many valves..... :p ;)

What were the torque #'s for this run, and the 711hp run last Friday??

Andrew

24v truck... 2001. 5 auto.

The graph will be posted tomorrow on our website. Best we saw Friday was 705hp. Best TQ we saw was on a 692hp run at 1404tq.

Seeing is believeing...

JR2, no, those numbers were with drugs. Our best on Diesel only is 611 from just before May Madness. We could likely have more now, but the setup we did for this event was for safety (pump timing way low).

Nice to see that in a hp shoot-out you guys still kept safety in mind. I guess it wasn't a shoot-out as DD trucks were the only ones shootin. :D :D

Now that you guys cracked the 700hp what next? I can't believe you guys got those #'s considering how long you guys waited to start on the truck. I'm glad I didn't come I would have got embarrased of the dyno. :( Then would have had to spend major $$ to have the courage to get back on. :D :D

Now I am going to have to come January for sure so that I can eat up the competition around here. :D :D NW boys look out, I'm off to DD. :D :D :D

Hey Stefan bring me back some leftovers :)

get hotal room.....plan roads on map....

800hp..... I know that you guys at DD work magic, but I have to see that to belive it, no offence. but then again, by useing the time frame that you built this one in, you got five LONG MONTHS to squeeze just 100 horses out of that HE-MAN of diesel engines. :D

Hope you get there though!

Andrew

P. S. I want a set of the injectors that will go into the 800hp run!!!:D

P7100 is the king of pumps, 24v is the king of valves, and DTT is king of trannys

That was a hybrid engine. A 24 valve with the mighty 12 valve pump.

That's the coolest part!!! Now if I could just win the lotto!!!:D

Guys I was coming back to to correct my post about nitro and propane... but I got beat to the punch... ... ... .

700 using nitrous is still very very impressive... .

The chart said "SAE" numbers, meaning they are corrected, correct?(get it? hahaha)

What was the elevation and the standard numbers?

Propane should add 100 hp, use the 5 months to do something else! After all, if nitrous is in use, you are only one step away... ... .....

Silly rabbits! Drugs are for PSD's! (sorry HVAC)

Nice runs!

The correction factor was 1. 04, so the dyno was adding 4% to the actual numbers. This was the case for almost everyone that ran that day (it might have been a percent or so different here and there). For that run I posted, the dyno recorded 48. 5 degrees F, 27. 60 in Hg absolute pressure and -0. 06 in Hg of vapor pressure.

100 on propane huh? Well, we were only getting about 38 of it from propane. Should have more next time though.

My testing/R&D has led me to believe that when running massive amounts of #2 the amount of propane the engine will tolerate is greatly diminished. I would say DD has experienced this with a max of only 38 hp. This is likely why "L" retarded the timeing or detonation can be a big problem.

So... what happened to the guy who was going to kick my butt in the 24v non-hybrid class??? What did Jim Fuller do on his run???

Actually, Jim did 455. 5.

The biggest number without drugs other than Joe's 12v "sickly" was a local guy here named John Emerson. He posted 492. 2 with his 99 24v. He's got Stage 3's, DD Ultimate, and the usual stuff. DTT auto as well.
