I am looking for feedback on experiences with Diesel Dynamic's "True Torque" power module. At $649 it appears to be a relatively good buy with an upgrade path to their injectors should I desire to increase power at a later date.

Thanks for any input -

i talked to brett at edge products and he said it is the same box as the ez, only they changed the levels of boost that it comes on with to dd's specs that they wanted. i have the ez and i think it's great.

I spent some time with the DD guys the other day. You are better off doing injectors with a boost mod, than just a box. Depending on the year truck of course. Call them if you want to go fast.

I heard the same as Diesel Guy (and CUMINNSTRKN). I'll let you know soon enough though, it's in transit as I type this. #ad

Bill Kondolay experienced better results with the DD True Torque Power Module than he did with the Edge EZ... WITH his DD Stage 1 injectors. I know, I know, I thought Bill had installed DD2s however, he actually installed a set of DD1s to replace his Bosch 275s. #ad

Let's just say I've driven an ETH w/ it...
No Smoke and the ability to make both the fuel gauge and the mile markets really fly.

From Peak boost of 22 at head to 31 (w/elbow included in the kit). Fleetgaurd air filter, 21468 in place of Resonator and muffler.

Lem, I ordered one today. Be sure to mention you are a TDR member as they give you a 20% discount. You will need your member number to get the discount. Then I spent the money saved on a Psycotty filter.

I'm dead meat if my wife finds out. #ad

Kent, three settings in the DD box
1-timing only
2-timing and fuel added at 20 lb boost
3-timing and fuel added at 3 lb boost

Thanks for the responses!

There are SO many different products out there with each making the same claim - - that each is better than the competition. It's good to hear from those that have them.

Guys! what are the negatives an "ez" box or the "True Torque" box have on already noisey
4:10 geared 3500 4x4 six speed truck.

Diesel Dynamics has done a lot of research and dyno testing on advance curves for the 24 valve. If he is getting the box made to his specs, he must have a good reason #ad

..... that's what I figured Joe, that's why I ordered the True Torque Power Module instead of the Edge EZ. #ad

I can't wait to see how it works with my DD3s!

QUESTION: which of the three different settings is most commonly used with the DD3s? The additional fuel in at 3 psi seems like it would tend to be a real smoker... literally. However, it would seem as though it would produce the most gut wrenching, seat-of-the-pants power increase.

John,

Just noticed your "question". It will smoke a good bit on the heavy fuel setting w/ 3's, but not bad enough to bother me. You can control it with your foot. I had intended to put it on the middle fuel setting when I ordered the box, but it has been a month and I can't bring myself to change the setting. #ad

I have both the DD module and the EZ. We have two 2001's and I ordered one for each.

It is obvious that they are made by the same factory. The packaging box, all hardware and the literature seems identical except for branding.

As near as I can tell they are absolutely identical, at least in the mildest "timing only" setting.

In the mildest setting, there is noticeable slight improvement in low end torque, and a very measureable increase in mileage if you drive properly. If you take advantage of the extra power, the mileage suffers. On the highway, the timing changes definitely help the mileage numbers.

If you want a KN air filter, the DD seems to be the best buy as you get one free with the DD package.

Both vendors seem very cooperative and helpful. I'll keep you posted if I find any difference.

Harry
