Sickly doesn't have nitrous, but has the rest. Hmmm, Lawrence got 139 hp from nitrous, hmmmm. Naah, I can't afford drug addiction for Sickly :( Poor old Ram, deprived of all that power

Well I voted for the pump. Why? My 12V does real well with the modified pump. From the looks of the smoke there is enough fuel so I know that works. Now the poll wasn't just for 24V's was it?

Sorry. I may have joined in and was not invited. :D

. . Preston. .

Cliff,

when did you relocate to Ballz Deep? I thought you lived at "my mommas house"

Oh well, Ballz Deep is a nice place to be as well.

Don~

I've already decided on the cam... . to go with my 93% DTT race converter.

But just thought I would bring this to the top... ... . add some more votes?

Kat,

Do I win a choclate Easter Bunny with the big ears(only part worth eatin') for guessing the right mod?:-laf

Go to Pheonix, drive Fred Swanson really really fast truck, Order the cam, He wants the head too. Drive to Vegas, get the cam and the head and then go 11 flat... ..... YES

Port the heads. Once its done, its forever. Heads are where alot of power is.

Lets the gasses through better, for more efficiency all the way around, lower EGT, more power for the same fuel. No loss in reliability, maybe more reliable w/ lower egts.

If you go for the pump, when it goes "poof" you have to start all over on it, and your efficiency, hasnt gone up much. Youre just dumping more fuel earlier. Reliability is questionable.

As for the cam, you can do that next. But w/ cams, you usually have to give up something to get something.

Nitrous is a joke. Youre always filling up the bottle. Limited on usage.

There isn't much power if any associated with a ported head on a diesel. Sorry.

Again, this doesn't apply to a diesel.

Well Keith, I guess you would know.

Ok, Kat, forget that port job! I was just kiddin' when I voted for that... :p

Many folks balk at the cost of air system upgrades. However, they are a critical part of the equation air+fuel=power. To keep egt down, you need the air system to work well. My personal feelings are that the order for the 12 valve is head porting first, camshaft second. for the 24 valve, cam and then head. This is based on my partially empirical, partially educated guesswork feelings about the gains to be made. With the head porting and the cam profile that DD and I have used, there is no noticeable downside at all to the modifications. Engine smoothness improves, egt goes down at high power. Actually, the camshaft is a good idea and not a mistake even if done before head porting on the 12 valve. The 12 valve head seems like it should benefit more than the 24 from porting, and the 12 seems to tend to crack more easily in stock form. I like to do both at once as it is significantly less work than doing them separately.

Wow wee. . Ill be darned...

Hey Kat, I was just kidding when I said I was Kidding... :p

I'd definitely go with that custom port job. .
