Writing the big dogs

couple of video clips... [worth watching i think]

Okay so this isn't a Cummins but its a project im working on and thought some guys that have never seen a Multifuel engine would enjoy the pictures...

Actually its a new gov't rebuild, your close just add 2 more cylinders, its a LDT-465-1C turbo whistler for a deuce(M35A2) thats what its going back in, i have a '68 AM General that i am redoing, for historical events and for farm use.

The truck weights in at 13700lbs, with a 10,000lb winch on the front, im waiting for the weather to break and a evening to remove the old engine with busted block and put this baby back in...

The engine is 1650lbs and the half can its in comes in at 800lbs, that is what i had in the bed of my dodge coming back from KY. all together i had 2755lbs in the bed of the dodge, the extras were 10gal diesel fuel, 2 9. 00-20 tires, and assorted parts.

This engine is made by White for the military, their are 3 companies that have been making them since the deuce came about, White, hercules, and Continental.

It is a Multifuel, which it can run on gas, kero, jet fuel, and Diesel... Diesel is the main fuel source but in a pinch especially if your being shot at, the others will get you down the road but the engine won't last that long due to knocking and other sorts of noises that will make you cringe :--) ... .

The LD engines are for the 2 1/2 ton and the LDS is for the 5 ton trucks mainly but the LDS's can be put into the 2. 5 ton trucks. This engine here is a turbo LD(liquid cooled diesel) T(turbo) 1C which means its the Whistler , the 1D engine is simply a turbo engine

Their are 3 kinds of Multifuel setups

LDT-465-1C turbo engine(whistler)

LD-465-1A Naturally aspirated engine

LDT-465-1D Turbo engine

This is my other truck :-laf

Don't let the weight police read this thread or you will be severly admonished for violating all kinds of things. :D

Nice truck. I always wanted a deuce and a half to drive around in rush hour traffic. Betcha you could change lanes and go just about where ever you wanted. Good luck with the project.

hey nps, the weight police :-laf , the truck handled it beautifully, plus i have 10,000lb tags on it, i came in under the tag limit, of course i don't get techinical as far as weighing things, if i need to move something i haul it and go on.

yeah the project is stalled right now due to rain and getting the extra evening to do the old engine removal and new install, but i think it will go really well, plus i plan on repainting also, im looking at flat black, the OD colors or Carc paints are rediculous in price, besides i think she will look good black.

Yeah i can't wait to give the local road hogs a taste of their own medicine :D

You can burn used oil, atf, gear oil in with the diesel as a mix and it will burn it, basically the same as the 12V cummins, as some members here have and are burning filtered used motor oil...
