Today was great. Dyno's, pulls, some tire smokin on the back road... lots of turn out... I'd say there were 200 or more trucks... and dodges ruled!!! More dodges than anything by far.
I really didn't talk to anyone from the forum cause I didn't go around asking names... but I did befriend about the only guy there with a 6. 0 Ford. He was from New York and was a super nice guy. He was diehard Ford but liked the Dodges alot too. He hasn't had any problems thus far. Me and him became friends and went and watched the pulls. Apparently he also owns a pristine 95 and 97 stroke. But real open minded about the whole diesel pickup scene.
At the pulls... it was obvious the Cummins Dodges rule. I'd have to say the Duramax trucks ran better than Powerstrokes today. At least they pulled harder and sounded alot better. Duramax pullers sound like 454 blown gassers... real V8'ish and loud if they wanna be. Powerstrokes sound like they just cant build the rpm's. At half track the Fords really sound like they are chugging hard to pull. Cummins on the other hand shake the stands and seem like they are in for the long haul about 1/4 track. Other than that I know nothin about pullin sleds .
Good time, good turnout... thanks Scheid. Wish you could have turned down the humidity a bit. Sunny but I felt like there was a sprinkler spraying me down all day. Dang Indiana weather!
This year was very hot and humid out in indiana, but the extravaganza was awesome!! There was way more trucks than last year, alot of dodges and fords and there is getting to be some more chevy's each year and they are starting to put the power to the ground. The track was very tacky and the sled looked like it pulled very hard. There was a few trucks that spit there driveshafts on the gound, that was kind of cool. The drag races were great and very smokey. Thanks for the great show Schied Diesel, will try my hardest to make it in 2004. Later!! Oo.
I didn't make it again this year. :{ Haven't been to one yet. Was really looking forward to it. Maybe next year. Would like to see what my truck will do on the dyno too.
