This is our second year of Diesel Drag racing at the Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove Wisconsin. This year you will compete in the Diesel Hot Rod Association national points series. Here is a link to the DHRA site for information on that. We will have a total of seven races where we will accumulate points for our own championship and payout. You may even win both! These are bracket-races where everyone has an equal chance of winning, no matter how fast their truck is. There will be a payout of 70% of all entry fees plus $200 from the DHRA each race. Let’s hope that the Ford and Dodge guys will come and play at the track this time! Memorial Day we had 10 Chevys and 1 Ford. What’s up with that? If you are coming for the pulls Saturday night, why not come on Friday and see how you do on the strip? I will have the shop open Saturday morning if you need a place to get your truck ready for the pulls that night. Come on people! :p :-laf

Eight classes and it starts at 7:00 p. m. ? Or is that just the DHRA pulls that start at 7:00? Just checkin. I'll be there. Either way.

Two sleds for nonstop action. Things will move along. I am not sure if they are quite ready for the number of trucks that show up for a Indy event, but it would be cool if that many are there!

Sigh. The four DHRA classes are WORK STOCK, Street Diesel, Super Street and Modified Diesel.

Oops, my bad! Dennis Thomas, came up with that name and he said you liked that name better. Also, from what I understand, the entry fee to pull is $30 for DHRA members, $40 for non-members and includes a one year membership, and you don't pay if you have the DHRA pulling endorsement.

Whatever you want to call it, come on out and join us! It basically boils down to this,

  • Stock turbo and no hanging weights

  • Bigger single turbo and hanging weights

  • Twin turbos or huge single with hanging weights

  • Kick but, no prisoners taken and do what you want Oo.

Is there anyone planning on coming to the drag races Friday? I know you guys are out there. We need some Dodge representation. Come on out and have some fun. It does not matter if your truck is the fastest or not since we are bracket racing. It is all about consistency. Try it, you will like it!

How about Saturday? Dodge trucks rule the truck pulls. How many are planning on showing up?

Thanks for everyone who showed up! It was a fun weekend. We got the races in Friday in-between the showers and Saturday was a blast. We could not do it without all your support.

The pulls were fun to watch Saturday night. I'm glad that somebody finally got the "big dogs" to show up in Wisconsin. I think there were some people in awe watching what the modifieds could do.

Definitely had a good time, even the wife enjoyed it. Altho it was a tad chilly (Dennis, saw you walking down the grandstands and you looked a little cold with the hood up).

Johnny

nice turnout. man it was cold with that wind. saw a few fellas with tdr badges. those modifieds were worth the wait for me though. nice run huck, thought you were going for the gate.

Thanks! My head is getting big now so I think I will pull at Indy this year. With the big payouts they are putting up I am considering drag racing also. Hopefully I can find someone to get me home if I break.

Congrats on the win, wish I could have been there.

No problem on the tow, bring an empty trailer just in case.
