Very entertaining last night!

Last night's pulls were very entertaining. One modded tractor huffed the turbocharger a little over halfway down the track. The engine started to run-away with a huge cloud of white smoke. The firemen at the track were sitting there clapping for awhile before they knew what was going on. It was running for quite some time before they finally got it shut down. First they disconnected the sled, then they ran around it (it still was running and smoking like crazy), then they finally emptied two dry chemical fire extinquishers under the hood. The engine finally quit(after it probably ingested a few pounds of dry chemical), and it looked like a huge powdered donut when they pulled it off the track. :D It was an entertaining eveningOo. Oo.

Midwest Street Diesel Drag Race number 4 was the cap to our Diesel Fest weekend! Friday was the Badger pulls and Saturday night was the DHRA pull. Both pulls were excellent! Lots of entries and the crowds were big! Sunday we were back drag racing. Five new participants joined fourteen others who have previously raced in the Midwest Street Diesel Drag Race series. The weather was great and so was the racing. “Ice Man” JJ Bursky did not loose a round all day and took home $500 for first place. Darren Counts got off to a bad start with a red light in the first round, but bought back in and ended up with $250 for second place. Jonathon Hable and Dean Sheldon had good days as well making it into the semi final round. Bruce Block was running strong as ever, but the wind was not with him and he fouled out the starting lights with too much black smoke. The points race is still up for grabs, but JJ is looking good if he keeps up his winning ways. Thanks go out to everyone who attended and helped out. It is definitely a group effort and that makes for a fun time! Thanks also go out to Advanced Flow Engineering for sponsoring the day! :)
