im using cummins premium fuel addative. expensive here in canada 56. 00 for 4 liters . we dont have any of the brands mentioned here in canada. has any used marvels mystery oil ? if so what was the results ? thanks for any replies. :) :) :)

I use Marvel Mystery Oil in every other tank. I had a couple of tanks of fuel that I bought in a different station and my lift pump would act up. The pressure would drop down around 5 or 6 psi. A pint of MMO at fill up and with in 3 minutes the pressure was back up to 13 psi. I believe that the fuel from this different station was low on lubricity.

Oil Additives

Marvel Mystery oil is primarily a solvent type oil additive. It has proved useful in loosening sticking piston rings, valves, and lifters.

I'm not sure of it's lubricating properties or it's ability to prevent gelling. On he other hand I don't think it will hurt anything.

It is one of the few additives that over time has proved useful for certain things. Whether it makes your engine last longer is debatable.

I would be interested in knowing if it appears to prevent gelling of fuel and the aproximate ratio used to achieve that.

Use Marvel Mystery oil in every tank full just for the lubricating side alone. Don't know if it does any good for anything else but it sure is slick.

Marvel Mystery

Wouldn't use it in a gas engine mixed with fuel, but see no problem with a diesel. You may be on to something. Good lubrication is vital for the injection pump, and also sometimes you get gunk growing in diesel fuel. Regular use may help keep the injection pump clean and happy due to the solvent attributes I mentioned before.

It will also work fine in the crankcase. It tends to vaporize out of the crankcase so you'll see the oil level drop a bit, but before it vaporizes out it does it's cleaning thing. Suggest you use it 500 miles before an oil change because it will dirty the oil in the pocess of cleaning the engine.
