I don't know how it is in the other parts of hte country, but here in Illlinois Diesel fuel is now more expensive than regualar gasoline? Regular gasoline is around $1. 89 / gallon and Diesel is $1. 99 / gallon.

Normally Diesel is about . 10 / gallon less than regular gasoline. Anyone know what's up with this?

I am located in NE Illinois, just south of the Wisconsin state line by Lake Michigan.

well here's one for ya. In NJ diesel is around 1. 75-1. 82. I pulled into a station out of desperation... ... $1. 95. Won't be going there again.

Dan, I think you hit it on the head. My dad asked a retailer the other day about the jump in the price, and they said the supply was low, due to stocking up in expectance of a high heating oil demand this winter. I still say it's all BS. Bring on the biodiesel and tell OPEC to go do something to themselves that I can't say on this board.

They wanna stock up now to just to screw us. You know they will hit us again this winter. What next? Winters have not been very severe as far as cold goes.

I bought some about two weeks back at $1. 65 . 9

It was $1. 59 . 9 just a few days before that.

Today it was $1. 75 . 9 there.

Funny part is, when the gas prices went up, so did diesel. A few weeks ago gas was dropping, the diesel has NOT.

Gas is now again going up, so the diesel is.

I need more prevacid.

On the way home from the river saw 2 stations that were $2. 75gal. The premium gas was $3. 05gal!!Good thing I had my 2nd tank in the bed!

When Hurr. Charely went through here a couple stations raised diesel by about $. 15/gal. I was ticked but luckily I did not need to fill. Once the storm passed they went back down to the 'normal' prices I;ve been seeing.

Average down here has been $1. 80 with a high of $1. 91 and I;ve been paying $1. 74. One of our walmart supercenters (I have 3 within a 15 minute drive) just added a station and they have one diesel pump. So far so good.

Down here I've heard a few folks gripe about the diesel prices rising but here (not sure if it;s the same where you all are at) the gas prices have been dropping and diesel has been relatively steady. RIght now regualr unleaded is about $. 03 cheaper at most stations than diesel and supreme is still hanging near or slightly over $2. 00.

I was always under the impression that Diesel fuel was cheaper to produce, thus the lower cost. I just can't understand how Diesel is now . 14 higher than regular gasoline.

I have been trying to find out if this is a local thing or a country wide thing. I would have to think the truckers are hurting as well.

Sure would be nice if our government would step in and do something about this, although I doubt that will ever happen as I'm sure they have plenty full pockets these days from the oil companies.

All I read about is the price going up due to "worries about supplies" overseas. They have been using this excuse for a year now. What major supply disruption has there been, and are they going to lower prices to compensate for nothing happening one day? Sure doubt that will happen.
