Complete set of ATP pads arrived this week. Will get to work with the sound meter and begin installation this weekend if the weather warms a bit. Pads look very interesting.

2001 Ram 3500 dually, 4:10, auto, SLT+,anti-spin,custom side paint(parchment/cabernet red), Smittybar nerf step,Geno's stainless wheel well trim, tonneau cover, air dam, chrome monster tip, mud flaps/chrome tips, gauges coming for the birthday.

Installed the valve cover and hood blanket this past weekend and took decibel readings. Was able to save most of the plastic clips that hold the OEM hood insulator in place. It requires pulling and working a small screwdrive up beside the pin and working it out of the metal hole. More later when I get the complete set in place. Hope to accomplish that by the comming weekend.

Does it cover the injection pump???? I recently heard a few injection pumps running on the test stands and they make alot of the diesel noise!!!!

No high tech fuel system needed. Just good old fashioned diesel power!!

At this point I have the hood blnaket, valve cover, and exhaust down-pipe blankets installed. There is a problem with the exhaust pipe blankets as there is 26" missing from the blankets. Apparantly, this set was designed for the standard cab. Will call on Monday and will try to get the correct set. Then will continue to test and post decibel levels at a later date. Pleased so far.

Did anyone get any test data? I love my diesel but not the noise.

<font color=blue>Why on earth would you dream of making your beautiful sounding Cummins queiter??? #ad

Maybe I have breathed a few too many diesel fumes, but I am looking on ways to make it LOUDER

But as always everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but just wanted to toss in my . 02 cents on it.

Well Kat, as folks age, noise takes on a little different meaning than it does for teen agers.
When I was your age nothing sounded better than a V8 with a small glasspack backing off at 40 mph in second gear. The police just loved it!
Times change. Now the cool sound seems to be a four banger blatting loudly under throttle, add $2 grand worth of stereo rap and you gotta be really cool.
Diesels, like two strokes and these blatting little obnoxious cars only sound good to the guy driving them or fellow enthusiast. For some of us, they don't even sound good then. #ad
Quiet can be nice.
Different strokes for different folks, still holds true... ... ...

fifth wheel.

<font color=blue>Ya I understand where your coming from, but I couldn't resist saying something. #ad
My favorite so far was playing with a CAT 3208 in the shop with only the exhaust manifolds on. . talk about fun!
I just don't think diesels are meant to be queit, I would love to live next to the railroad tracks where they "park" trains for a bit... .

Like I said everyone is entitled to their opinion, not trying to take that away from you. Thanks for sharing your "view" on it.

And just for the record I am not a teenager #ad

And actually I am going to put a muffler on my 4" exhaust rather running straight pipe outta respect for my neighbors. Although they do give me a strange look when I go out and start it just to hear it and get the "diesel smell" flowing around.

Hope I didn't offend anyone with my comments.
