Don't let Gary get under your skin Silver Ram. I just tried to bring up Gary's Swan song post for a newbie like you and the search left me short. Maybe you would have better luck with search.

Well!!!!!! I agree with joeyou. New news on an old subject may help a person. I personally will skip over subjects that I do not deem important to me. I would think everyone that is literate could do the same. But then, some people get mad just because the sun comes up in the same old place everyday. "Ma", "did you see that", "the dadburned moon is still in the southeastern sky". I gotta move on to the next thread, as I'm starting to giggle.

Was that the Overnighting-at-Walmart thread?

I thought maybe they could put the seniors section in between others & politics.

For those of you that answered my question Thank You.

While looking for diesel fuel additives and cleaners, don't overlook Marvel Mystery Oil.

Been around for a long time and very effective. don't notice any performance improvement (cetane boost) other than it cleans the injectors and that just keeps things at their best.

It is cheaper than a lot of the hyped up products.

PS - it also keeps the lubricity up too

Good question Troy,

I personnaly run the Stanadyne performance in my truck. I have heard several people comment good about the power service stuff.

As for Gary getting excited about someone wanting to learn a little. I work with a guy like that, and everyone just ignores him.

Big A

I just returned to this thread after skipping it for many days - in full anticipation of the many bleats and whines of the lazy few who deeply resent the slightest suggestion they waste space and time when they ask others to do the homework they are entirely capable of dong for themselves - especially when they have as many professional credentials as the guy who started this thread...

Seems sorta strange that the very guys who CLAIM to "not have time" to research their own subjects of interest, seem to have PLENTY of time to senselessly whine and cry here when it is suggested they at least make a feeble attempt to find stuff on their own.

Grow up guys, learn how a board like this works - and what archives and resources it offers - then USE those resources instead of hanging on the shirttails of others. OTHERWISE, it's much like attending a large group meeting, and having a steady stream of late arrivals constantly interrupting the meeting to ask questions on stuff that was thoroughly discussed in depth before they arrived - then get all flustered and insulted when that fact is pointed out to them!

THERE - *that* should stir the pot nicely and generate lots more "helpful" info...

OH, and *I* use the PS Diesel Kleen stuff myself - it is made for warmer climates - the other PS "fuel Supplement" stuff has more anti gelling conditioners, and is for colder climates - but then, THAT was also discussed here in earlier threads as well...

NOW, I'll go away for a while again, and let things simmer... ;) :D

You know, Gary, maybe you ought to do your own research and read carefully through this thread. I believe you were referring to me when you said "... . especially when they have as many professional credentials as the guy who started this thread. " I DIDN'T START THIS THREAD. I was sticking up for the poor guy you jumped all over for asking about fuel conditioners. DO YOUR RESEARCH, GARY!

Things change so I really don't see whats wrong with asking a question again... ... I do agree that there is a wealth of info looking through previous threads but sometimes rehashing something brings to light new ideas and opinions.

The "new" additive in Power Service... ... "Slickdiesel" or something..... anybody... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... ???????????

i use diesel kleen in every tank but when i forget i notice a power difference. mine smokes with or without and by the way how much weight can i pull with my truck

Let's discuss overloaded trucks pulling trailers exceeding the factory GCWR parking overnight in Wal-Mart parking lots. Gary doesn't approve of those behaviors either. As a matter of fact, it seems that most of Gary's posts are for the purpose of expressing his disapproval of the behavior of another member.

Poor Gary. He doesn't seem to be enjoying his retirement years.
