Here's something you don't see everyday. The engine was bought from a friend's father-in-law who deals with diesel generators.

Now that's thinking outside the box, heck out of the building. I like it. Turn it up so it'll run 55, could be a heck of a local commuter car. Based on the comments by the builder, at a quart of fuel per hr, at 30mph that's 120mpg, not bad, not bad at all.



Kubota has a little 3 cyl diesel that might be nice for this type application.

That's pretty cool that someone had the ingenuity to try something like that! Looks kinda cool with the engine sticking up out of the hood, too. I've always thought our trucks would look cool if the turbo protruded out of the hood (kinda like a supercharger on those monster hot rods).

WOW! Yeah, kinda like that... but with a more streamlined bullet-shaped clear lexan cover. What's the mesh for?

The mesh was to keep crud from falling in there (leaves, squirrels, etc. ). The idea was for the hood bulge to also have a bit of a cowl induction effect.



Since it's so far from the cowl - I'm not sure if the aerodynamics are setup to allow for any induction to happen. It's a 1st Gen - I'm surprised I even bothered to mention aerodynamics. :-laf
