Diesel particulate filter question 2500 2016

Hello forum,
i am thinking of buying a new 2016 ram 2500.
Do any of you know if the 2016 models have the DPF problem where the filter clogs?
What causes it and how do you prevent this problem.

The problem does not affect the 16 model,they have figured out the software to prevent it.

All DPF-equipped diesels have the potential to get a clogged DPF. I believe Ram has it pretty well cured except in the worst of circumstances (my opinion from all I have read and my personal experience so far). I am, however, curious about the details of "the DPF problem" you are referring to. Are you referring to Ram specifically or all diesels, a specific model year (or range of model years), or what? I am not aware of anything new about the 2016 Ram that is different from 2015 or 2014 with respect to the DPF.

I mentioned to a mechanic that I was interested in purchasing a new diesel ram truck. He then began to tell me all about the DPF problem and how expensive it was to correct the problem. He didn't mention year models, just warned me about it. Since I am looking into the 2016 2500 Ram, I wanted to know if the new Rams experienced the problem.
