This a question for all you guys running propane. What do you think of the powershot from Diesel Performance Products? What do you guys use for a tank and where do you mount it? Those of you running it all the time for mileage, how many miles does a certain size tank last, and how much better mileage do you actually get? And lastly, does the turbo spool up any quicker?

Thanks a bunch!

Jerry

Love it!

Jerry, I use it a lot, it works great. I'm also a dealer for them, but only signed up with them a few weeks ago, after having and using the system for over a year !

My favorite use for it is while pulling my 30 foot long travel trailer. It keeps the smoke down, and keeps my fuel mileage way up. Without the propane while towing, I'd see 12-13 mpg. With the propane, I get 17-18 unless I'm hammering on it. (While towing it, I drag-raced a stock Cummins dually with no trailer, and beat him, :D , but I also had the DD3 injectors and TST PM3 box all going at the same time too)

I use a BBQ tank, and it's adequate. It only lasts about 500 miles, though. But I've got it turned up a little more than usual.

It does seem to help spool up, you can set it to come on at 2-3 psi of boost.

If you have a six speed high output truck, propane is a no-no, it blows the head gaskets.

Tanks are available that you can mount under the bed, right behind the transfer case. Plenty of room for a 30 gallon tank right there. :D

Can anybody tell me if the propane on an ETH won't work because of the higher compression? Is it possible to still use it in moderation?

First , I am not a user of propane on the cummins. Now with that out of the way, I think you could use it if you can respect it and of course you have gauges and can keep the temp down.

The problem we cummins people have, is of course the word , MODERATION !!!!!!

You know a little sure is nice then a little more sure should be better.

I have a tank and that teases me to use it but first I want the up-grades on the auto. And that is a few months away.

I should mention that I used propane a few years ago on a couple of gas motors and it can make a motor ( gas) last a long time.
