Ford and Edge

So I was bored at work today (and boss is on vacation) so I decided to do my daily roof inspection. Well, it is a nice day so I decided to take my note pad up and figure out how much lumber we will need for a dock we are building here at work (free-standing deck).

Well, I counted trucks instead. Diesel pickups to be specific. Here is my criterium:

*We are about 40 feet off on Lincoln Avenue and could see the trucks, 3 storys down, clearly.

*Ford/Dodge/Chevy

*No 6. 5/6. 2 DD or 6. 9 Internationals

*No E-Series vans, no Excursions

*Only counted badged trucks, if they were missing badges I did not count them

*I counted from 2:00-3:00 pm on Lincoln Avenue, Eastbound and Westbound

*I only counted once. Did not double count.

*Ford 7. 3 PSD (94-97), PSD (99-02), 6. 0 (03-04)

*Chevy/GM Duramax to current

*Dodge 5. 9 CTD (89-93, 1st gen), CTD (94-02, 2nd gen), CTD (03-04, 3rd gen)

Dodge 1st gen (3)

Dodge 2nd gen (21)

Dodge 3rd gen (5) 29 Total CTD

Ford 7. 3, 94-97 (3)

Ford 7. 3, 99-02 (35)

Ford 6. 0, 03-04 (14) 52 Total PSD

Chevy/GM Duramax to current (10) 10 Total Duramax

I figured two things out today in this experiment:

"Fords are like Harleys, everyone and their best friends dog has one, but does not mean they are the best. "

And... . Hemis suck.

i agree with HoleshotHolset..... i just cant get my step dad to see my point of view (owns a 04 6. 0 PSD) even though my CTD runs/pulls better then his... .

Its that blue blood running through their veins! I just can't see owning a glow-plugged-HEUI-V8-that-revs-like-a-race-car-sounds-like-a-sick-dog truck.

I remember someone once saying something to the tune of "Ford loyalists would drive a cardboard box with wheels if it was the new Ford truck. "

F*rd must lace their cabin air filters with a narcotic...

So long as the HVAC system works... the drivers/owners of their vehicles will get a 'hit' and fall in love with their vehicles every time they drive.

Dodge Cummins are more like Harleys... both hold their resale value better!

however... .

If you have a ford & a harley, you better have some real comfortable walking shoes.

Come on! They're the the best selling trucks don't you know, that means they're the best... ... . :p

I know a person who is a ford guy and always wanted to hook up a chain. Why do some Ford owners always insist on this? Plus it's a V10 and thinks it's the best thing out there. In some ways I like Fords but some people need to think for themselves.

Hmmmm..... and Harley's? Yeah. I work with a group of guys that bought import cruiser bikes and now want Harley's. One guy somehow wanted one because the same Ford guy (above) always said they were fake bikes or something like that.

Hemi's? Talking to a State Trooper the other night on a call. Has a Hemi. Said it sucks, only 11mpg. Wants to sell it. I had a 1972 Blazer w/ a 400 SB that got that kind of mileage!

I think I need to shut my hole now... ...

The only thing I've noticed is that Ford keeps talking about "Repeat Buyers",..... if their vehicles would last longer, folks might not have to keep replacing the ones that fall apart and die. :-laf

the hemi's actually get better milage than the 5. 2 and the 5. 9 they offered in the rams..... as far as getting 11mpg, tell him not to stand on it all day

NPloysa-

Just to confirm your findings, I found this from one of the Ford forums that someone posted... ... It's a shame, it is

"I have a E350 4x4 with the diesel on order right now. I got the Ford because they are so popular. If I don't like it at least I should be able to get rid of it easier. I hope I like it. "

Hmmm, thats funny because around here if you are shopping for any CTD you better have the money ready, and if you see it and its what you want you better buy it. Tommorrow it will NOT be there, it will be in somebody else's driveway!! I can not see any reason not to buy a dodge CTD as far as resale, they move QUICK!
