http://dieselpowermag.com/events/0603dp_challenge/

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We'll invite 10 trucks, and their drivers, to each event in order to pit them against each other in a quarter-mile drag race, sled pull, chassis dyno shootout, and a 100-mile on-road drive with a trailer-towing test. The competitors will receive prizes, bragging rights, and pictures of their truck in Diesel Power magazine. Readers from around the world are invited to submit this form, along with a picture of their vehicle.
So who's gonna put up to shut up the other crowds?!
2 competitions, one spring one fall.
BigBadDodge, you think you can slam some gears and drag race that thing?
We all know you'd own the sled pulling competition as well as the towing for the west coast.
East coast... . Humm... . so many to choose from..... who's in for this!?
I don't wanna hear about some Durajap or FlowerPoke doing anything in this competition!
Josh
sent mine in , but if it is like the mag you will have to be banks powered or edge powered to get in , thats why they ask all the up front info probably
How about a Duraford??? I'd like to see some of those super street trucks try to pull a big trailer around town :-laf
I am glad I got my subscription Free with my DHRA membership ,cuase it sucks , Why can't it be more like a four wheelin mag ? you know have coverage of real trucks at real events. It is so money ruled ,just look at the Dmax write up on TTS 400hp come on they get 500hp with EFI live. They need to run stuff like supersonic's new truck, Keatings truck,or a pullin truck build up.
The same editor that claims that if a street driven truck blows smoke it needs a bigger turbo.
Re-read that carefully. He says he's all for the smoke because it shows you have power (some would argue against that) and $$ and that you willing to show off. He said "realistically" it needs a bigger turbo.
I plan to enter my truck into that, but if I get called on I will more than likely pull my laser cut DV's and throw some 181's back in since their will be towing as well as sled pulling. :D
Come on Mark I tow all the time w/ those same d. v. 's. Glad to see you woke up today!! :-laf I think your truck would do just fine.
Yeah but with those DV's, PDR 370's, & a #100 plate (basically a #0) I can't tow heavy. I towed a homemade 20Ft. lowboy with a CC SWB 4x4 Durmax 2500 back in December and I couldn't keep her cool. Of course I can max 'er and then some just by going WOT too.
As a matter of fact I was racing a buddy of mine with a CR a BDDL & a TS box down the interstate last weekend. Foot on the floor in 5th gear and the needle was on the "T" in the word pyrometer. :eek: :--)
So yeah..... I'll take 'em out. I need a charger that flows as much air as twins but spools like a small single. :-laf
Yeah I know the feeling. I think about the only thing we got different right now is the charger and the head work. My egt's are a lot more manageable w/ all the porting and polishing on the head. :D What charger are you runnin right now? Thinkin about twins? I would love to have a set, but I think for now I am going to go w/ the baby 55.
I traded my Hybrid 55 to Jessie (Smokin Dodge 12V on KYDTR) for a barely used HTT Killer B2 64comp/14cmWG'd Exh. Thinking of sending it back for SP66 converison some day, but also thinking of talking to Industrial Injection too cause I hear they can eliminate the "surge" (correct term escapes me) when towing heavy. If money was no object I'd have my pump balanced (I have enough fuel already) and my bent Gov. stud replaced, ported/polished/O-ringed head, and a BIG easy spooling single charger so I could still pull in the Street/Modified classes. Twins may come in another couple of years whenever I get the pulling bug out of my system. :rolleyes:
At least the truck will be paid for this year!! Oo. :-laf
