I got my copy at Barnes and Noble in Appleton. Unfortunately for anybody else, I think I got the last one. I couldnt see any other copies on the stands.

No subscription cards in it, just a number.

havent read it yet. something to read before bed. Oo. Oo. :-laf :-laf

Barnes and Noble on University Ave. in Des Moines has a few copies left as of about 9:30 pm tonight.

Really good reading, but hopefully they will gear it more towards the engine, trans, suspension tech, then just lifted trucks with diesels.

The wife picked one up for me last night @ Borders :D . I think it's probably the first time I was disappointed that a mountain of subscription cards didn't fall out when I opened it up :-laf .

dont try the charlotte walmart (michigan) i just snagged the last copy. had to wait in line for 10 min (the speedy lane  ) to get it. pretty cool. now all it needs is some 12v articles :D , anyone can plug in a chip, but all in all good for the first copy. i will be signing up for the monthly drop off as soon as i can.

I went out of my way and went to wally world and They have every magazine known to man but no DIESEL POWER After I followed 90 million sunday shopers..... you know the ones that stop right in the middle of the aile ... . I WISH I HAD A CATTLE PROD... A WALMART CATTLE PROD that is. .

About 30 mins of my life gone

I know the least likely place has 10 copies right now ... Thats my luck

Chad

go to krogers they seem to be the ones that carry them in our area. When i got mine i checked the shelf and there was about 5 left.

Just got my copy at Books-a-Million tonight and have pretty much read it cover to cover. It's pretty obvious to me that this is going to lean toward the Ferd group, as the editor has just bought a new one.

I thought the Diesel Shootout test was likely biased. I thought even the way that the Ferd article was written suggested that the writer/editor was partial to the Powerjoke.

Overall, I like the magazine so far. Lots of product reviews. Hopefully they will add more 1st person articles and do a little better on their installation articles. But the next issue isn't due to be out until the middle of June!

My suggestion - take a look at the TDR magazine as a model!

Oh yeah, anyone notice that Piers is now marketing to "Cummings" diesels. :-laf Page 18 - hope that was the editor's mistake.

free diesel power to a good home!!

well, being the good guy that i am, and looking out for other tdr members. i managed to snag another copy of diesel power. its in the package and ready for shipping if anybody wants one. i see theres quite a shortage so i figured that if it was there why not grab it, no sense in having another gas drivin hillbilly around here get it cause it has cool trucks on it. so it is free to a good home if anybody is still wanting a copy, just pm me your adress and i will send it out. i was going to put it in pay it forward but didnt seem right with a entire thread about it.

i know what your talking about with that. banks alone has 4 full pages, i would hate to see the cost of that!!! i have faith it will get better. more reader input will get them in the right direction. but its better than reading the tv guide.

and to think of it those test results look very familiar, i think that those numbers have already been put in a magazine. dont quote me but im gonna look in my mag pile and see. to me it looks like a re-write article. if you look its not even the new 610 dodge. i will galdly keep my cummins over the 6. 0.

matt

I finnaly thought a non partial mag was in the works

TO my disappointment THis mag must of been made in the basement of GALE BANKS and produced and edited and writen by Henery Ford him self... .

Well Im used to that

Nothing new here folks the same old MAIN STREAM BS

That said... ... ... Ill still subscribe Just to support the Cause

Wouldnt that just be the bee's knee's

They ran that diesel shootout in one of their sister rags a couple of months ago(Truckin',for those who don't get it) and when I read it I was amazed at how they compared the trucks. If you go back and reread what they wrote about how the interiors sit and how comfortable the "captians chairs" are along with the rea seat "looking like it was pulled from a Lincoln Town car" of the Ford its easy to see why they were so biased. As you can tell from looking at the photos of all the trucks interiors then its plain to see one of the items that killed both the Dodge and the Chevy. When a manufacturer sends a truck to test they should be required to send a "normal" optioned ride, not a special order truck like the "Harley Davidson". Its a shame when writers are so biased and do not even mention that in their article. I've been a long time subscriber to their Truckin' magazine and it also started off like this one did, hopefully this will go monthly and give us another magazine to read monthly.

Overall I felt it was well put together and had some good articles on some of the more bling, blinged out diesels in the country. The Kelderman truck is enough to make me weak in the knees and would look good in my garage,LOL. I know I'll get put to the stake for this one but Bullydog's Adrenalin Duramax is sweet looking and worthy of our attention. Not so much for its powerplant, but its attention to detail. Having never seen it in person you could only imagine how good it looks in real life. I also was amazed at how many of the ''Other" manufacturers were stepoping out into the limelight and making some kind of announcement about diesel related products they have or have upcoming as there are some in the letters area who say just that. You have to wonder why Fluidampr woould wait for this magazine to show a small add and not do any advertising in the TDR magazine prior to let those know of their new product(I know there was a thread on it recently, but, other than that not a word was said or shown).

If Primedia does a little less concentrating on lifts,bling-bling equipped trucks, biased truck showdowns and does more performance minded articles this magazine will fly off the nations shelves. I hope it gets better as time goes on as its nice to see someone other than our trusty TDR Magazine do something to show off diesel power... ... ... ... . Andy

BTW. .

If any of the TDR members here can not find them there are plenty in my area as they are not flying off the shelves here. Walmart(3 stores in the local area),K-Mart,Borders,Walden Books and the local Magazine store all had numerous copies. If you can not find one PM me and I'll slip out and get one if needed.

Barnes and Noble have it - fyi to those still searching.

Why the heck are you guys buying up 'all the copies' at stores, rather than just 1? Ya don't want any of us to have a copy??

Only one left at Wal-Mart here. I took the other. I am actually suprised that there was only 2 left. I guess there are a lot of dieselholics here too. Who knew?
