Isn't this is slight problem?

Peoples Republic of California--strikes again!!!

Maybe one of those ugly little Toyota hybrids would reduce the dents in your wallet.

I think high prices are here to stay. At least untill we can shut down these environmental wacko groups that won't let us drill here in the US including AK and off shore in the Gulf of Mexico.

Then we need more refining capacity here also.

I paid $2. 049 at TTT truck stop in Tucson on Friday. Fisrt time ever I've paid over $2. :(

I agree, I think these prices will be with us for a while. I just hope they don't continue to go ^.

There is one positive a can think of even with high diesel prices. None of us will be selling our trucks to get a more fuel effecient diesel powered light truck . :p

Here in Cal it's as high or in some cases higher than 87 oct. gas. I remember my truck driving days of the 70's paying as little as 18 cents (not in Cal). Sure feel sorry for those guys now, 200 gallons at 2 bucks a gallon... Ouch.

XJSuperman, you mean "tankfull" don't you. Hehehe

For years, the wealthy upper-class yuppy/liberals have been grandly spouting as to how us USA citizens are "spoiled", and SHOULD be paying the same $5 a gallon for fuel the Europeans do - looks like they finally get their wish.

BUT, for MY money, I'd FAR rather the yuppy liberels simply went to Europe, and paid the higher fuel prices themselves if that was what they craved... ;)

The Europeans pay much more than $5/gal. I believe they charge by the liter (or litre). And that runs about $3-$5+ depending on where you're at.

There's 4 liters/gallon... you do the math.

I love my cummins but I'm riding my motorcycle as much as possible now.

Oh Boy...

I guess I should feel bad... I refueled twice this week-end and paid $1. 599 on Friday afternoon, and $1. 649 on Sunday. Too bad Iowa overall is Democrat (prissy Libarals) - the Western part is reasonable!

I paid $6000 for a Jeep 4WD pickup in 1978, and gas sold for about $1. 00 / gallon. Now I have a truck that sells for about $36,000 and gas is about $2. 00 / gallon. You do the math.

Not that Im happy about the fuel prices we all have but, us that were driving back when gas was 22 cents a gallon, remember that min wage was about $1. 25 per hour. Even so, back in 1979, in L. A. I remember paying $1. 39 per gallon for 92octane in my Corvette. Now, 25 years later, we are in the $2. 00 range. Yes, it seems expencive but, you must admit that inflation and fuel costs have not been equel. with that in mind, as much as I hate to say, fuel at $2 a gallon is really still a bargan. Yes, it hurts like hell paying $75 or more everytime you fill up the tank, but, it still beats walking in my book. Like Ive always said, If you can afford the truck or RV, you can afford the fuel. At least, your truck is getting at least 18mpg, unlike a gasser truck getting 8 or 9. Just my $2 worth. . Dont shoot please!

Had a horse show in Alabama this weekend, filled up going and coming at Flying J at Tallahasse Fl for 1. 69.

Just think of all those people who bought Hummers (9-12 mpg) or Ford Excursions (10-12 mpg)! You think WE'RE bad off at about 16-17 mpg?? AND our trucks are heavier and more powerful!!

Good point, though, about the cost/inflation rate ratio. I'm making much more than twice my 1978 salary.

Just a reminder, though I am sure you all look around at prices for your fuel. Here there is a station that does decent volume that I use and today as it has been the last couple months been at 1. 459. The last few weeks I have found myself wanting to fill up just so I can use the 1. 45 price as much as possible. Except for this station I havent seen it below 1. 699 for the last few weeks and it at many places it is 1. 799.
