I thought we were getting screwed here in Seattle. But, on the news last night, they said that Canadians were coming across the border up by Blaine to buy gas. It said they're getting charged over $4/gal for regular gas up there. (They didnt say if that was for an imperial gallon, or US equivelant)

Anyways, just wondered what you TDR'rs up in British Columbia are getting hit with for diesel these days ? Im driving up that way in June (might even make a short trip in a couple of weeks) and was interested in what I might expect to find.

Thanks,

Mbuck

it is really painful. About 15 months ago we were paying about 63 cents per litre for diesel and now we are around 92-95 cents per litre, while gas is about 82 - 1. 00 per litre. I can't understand how diesel can cost the same as premium fuel. The diesel price went up with the gas but never comes down. About $110 to fill my tank, maybe more. I'm not sure as I can't afford to fill it. Not sure what to do, we need some sort of large scale action to get the prices down.

Calgary,Alberta

The next province over its around . 80cent a litre :confused: ,but for how long,who knows,gas is . 86cents a litre.

Because the game is rigged.

that's what I figure. I can't imagine trying to run a transport truck around here. I've seen rigs for sale at 8-10 thousand for the older ones, people just can't even fuel them. I was about to get into hotshotting before the prices jumped through the roof. Lucky for me it happened before I invested in a trailer. I am still shocked everyday at the prices. For starters, our government is doing absolutely nothing about the prices. Wait until tourism and trnasport disappear, then they'll be crying for tax money :{ Me, I think I'll just start buying jet fuel or some other exotic commodity to run in my truck. :rolleyes:

Diesel took a . 09 to . 11 cent drop here. It is now 2. 219 to 2. 289 here. Gas is running . 12 cents less (2. 099) I guess the reason it is higher here is because the farmers are using it also. I saw on http://www.flyingj.com that diesel in some parts of the US (VA, IN) are under $2 a gallon. Hopefully it will keep dropping!

diesel price

It started dropping here in Seattle a few weeks ago, but it didnt last long. It went down to (I think it was) about $2. 56 (?), but is back up to $2. 71 and higher

It's been pointed out that during the Clinton administration, on a tie-breaking vote by Al Gore, it was voted to allow diesel tax to be increased by 17 cents a gallon - that's ONE element of price increase we're NOT likely to see go back down, EVER... :rolleyes: :(

THEN, add in the expected additional production cost of the new ULSD, and brace yourself for even GREATER diesel increases!

Diesel has traditionally been 10 - 20% cheaper than gasoline here, but I did see diesel higher than gasoline for a few weeks last month. Last week the prices were;

- 89 cents per litre for diesel (x 3. 77 litres per US gall = $ 3. 36 per gallon)

- 95 cents per litre for regular gasoline (x 3. 77 = $ 3. 58 per gallon)

Makes me mad when diesel costs more than gas - no reason for it other than "because they can!"
