Diesel prices up in your neck of the woods?

Went past the pumps tonight and had to do a double take prices actually went down . 20 cents. Never thought I'd be happy to pay $2. 19
a gallon for fuel.

Wow!! After reading some post about paying #ad

for diesel fuel, I guess I should'nt feel too bad... prices are still holding around $1. 49 to $1. 51 since my first post a couple of weeks ago.
Hopefully we'll have some decent prices for summer!

Prices are in the $1. 40s here in Nebraska. You east coasters are getting gouged big time. No doubt it has something to do with elections, the "I'll lower fuel prices" platform.

Just remember: Algore says we should be paying over $5 a gallon for vehicle fuel (gas and diesel) because the biggest single threat to the planet is the proliferation of automobiles. So to all you Dems out there: sometimes you get what you wish for.

Hey Mark, you're absolutely correct - tax and spend demos. Everybody's *****ing about the gas prices but if you break it down the government gets a hell of a cut. I look at my paycheck and then all the other taxes we all pay - there's not much left. I'm not much into politics but I plan to vote for the guy that's going to cut my taxes!!!!

I just flew home from California. While there, noticed the Diesel was still around the price of gas.

Up here in Vermont, I am seeing everyone over $2 a gallon. Everyone says there is no fuel... .

But, changing planes at Boston Logan, what does this old ex-Coastie see anchored in the harbor? Yep, one massive loaded to the gills tanker. When I was in the CG in Boston, they never anchored in the harbor.

So, being the 'informed realist' (i. e. cynic) that I am, I say it is entirely BS!!

I travel throughout PA and NY often. When I first got the truck in 10/98, I was doing great on my $. 31/mile allowance. Fuel was $. 79 a gallon at the local Indian Reservation (no taxes). Just filled up this morning for $1. 48 a gallon. On the return trip home yesterday, I had to buy a few gallons at $1. 99. This is getting out of hand.
A trucker said that Congress was looking into this. Is that true?
Hate to be political also, but the Liberal, Democratic, Northeast is reaping what it's sowed.

The truckers in Quebec Canada apparently did a protest since fuel jumped up to 75. 9 cents/liter. Thats 15 cents/liter jump or about 60 cents a gallon. The Quebec governement offered a discount for those doing rovincial business. Isn't that great? LOL

Someone add to this if I got a few facts skewed as this was from a trucker friend that parked his truck since he cannot afford to run it now.

In Erie, Pa. the price of diesel fuel is running anywhere from $1. 819-$1. 859 a gal.

Price of gasoline finally caught and passed diesel here in NE Wisconin. 1. 49 for No-lead and 1. 48 diesel. Avg price for diesel in north part of Wisconin ranges from 1. 44 to 1. 54

A friend of mine is a crude oil and electric trader and he claims that the oil reserveis not as full as people seem to think. He also said that releasing some of the reserve into the market will not bring the prices down, the whole problem stems toward OPEC. Last year there were major political problems brought on by the warm winter, which the OPEC nations never had to deal with before My friend claims the only way to bring the prices down in NJ and other no eastern states is for the governors to lift the tax on deisel fuel until winter ends
by doing that the fuel prices will be more in line with the rest of the country. #ad
The good news is he said that the prices should start to come down in the next couple of weeks. MIKE

sorry guys but since our republican governer got in Mrs. Witman everything went up that affects the working man Tolls, tax on cigs and gas and she has the power to open up the fuel reserve and lift the tax on fuel oil and take the presure off but chooses no to IF THERE POLITITIONS THEY ALL STINK #ad

Things have been funny around here, On Staten Island, I am still seeing over $2. But in central Jersey on rt. 9 it is in the '90's and on rt. 1 it's in the '70's! and where this is happening, the roads are not far from each other! but in NJ. the prices are on the way down, now Gas prices are going up.

prices are starting to drop here on mass/nh border . i paid 1. 89 last week , 1. 79 last nite , i have also seen heating down to 1. 29 , i was in salt lake city last week and it was 1. 39 ... this is total B. S. about a shortage , what wiil raising the price if there is a shortage accomplish ? will people shut off their heat and freeze , will the trucks stop running ???? the answer is no , its the greedy SOB at the distribution level , with the warmer temps this fall and early winter they didn't make enough to take their 4 month carribean vacations and have to make it up somewhere ...

Prices here are dropping this week by 20 cents, ranging from $1. 50 to 1. 70. The highest I saw was $1. 999 a couple weeks ago.

Two days ago i fulled up diesel was 1. 55 and today it was 1. 57 thought it was going down two days ago cause it was up to 1. 65 i guess they haven't made money yet. I have been driveing my D50 most of the time cause gas is cheaper. I made a tape of the diesel sound and play it in the tape deck when i drive down the road, it helps a little but its not the same.
