Diesel Prices

I filled up last night. Much to my surprise, diesel was below $3. 00/gallon ($2. 989) and even more astonished that regular gasoline was more at $3. 039/gallon. This is way up here in the Pacific NW/Washington where we typically see higher prices than most places in the lower 48. We're on Whidbey Island, and the price here was even less than prices off island by as much as 10 cents a gallon. WOW! It's a cold day in Hell it would seem! Observations?

i was in oregon a week and a half ago it was 2. 899 in Eugene.



Camp Pendleton CA, where fuel is supposed to be cheaper for us it is 3. 199

fallbrook is 3. 299

and MCRD san Diego is 3. 059

Well, hold onto your shorts. Thanks to this latest "Middle East Crisis" we will soon be in for another price spike caused by fear and speculation. Diesel has already climbed from $2. 99 to $3. 12 here just in the past week.

I think we will see $4. 00 diesel in the next 2 months before the global unrest settles down.

Here in Tulsa,Oklahoma it's $2. 85 a gallon, last week in Tunica, MS I seen it for $2. 71... . Thanks Heavens for that extra 100 gallon tank in the back

Here in San Antonio Texas its 2. 69-2. 89 around my place. I better fill up to create a shortage so they will have another B. S reason to raise the price. See what outsource and free trade will do. Send more american jobs to India so they can buy even more gas over there. Same with China. I would rather have stuff made in the USA and pay more for it then pay more for fuel at the pump because we sent american jobs to some other poor country who now has money for fuel and drives up its cost and demand. Oh well what do you expect from a country who will legalize millions of illegal aliens that have not payed any taxes but yet my tax dollar pays for the birth of there child. Who started this thread? You got me all worked up on a Sunday. :-{}

Head's up guys, you will see $100 a barrel oil by xmas and a corresponding increase in diesel/gas prices. Diesel prices are tied directly to the price of oil; simple as that. The consumers of the world determine the price. Too many drivers, too little oil production.



The price of oil has tripled in the last 2 years, so the price of diesel has also tripled. There is no correlation between price increases to see if "we" will pay it as a marketing strategy.



The cat is out of the bag on oil prices and there is no going back.



We are one well timed, well placed, terrorist attack away from $100 a barrel oil. Uh-oh, that is exactly just what happen in the "new" middle east conflict. Iran started this; they support Hezbollah & Hamas as a warning to the world concerning demands they not build a nuclear weapon.

Most Americans are COMPLETELY ignorant when it comes to oil supplies- Mexico and Canada provide about 50% of our daily consumption. Saudi Arabia only supplies 6%. Mexico's largest field (Cantarell) produces 60% of Mexico's total output- Cantarell is in serious decline- the nitrogen cut they started pumping in a few years ago has propped up production rates in the short term- at the expense of long term production. Cantarell is decreasing at 14% per annum, the decline could increase exponentially now due to the nitrogen. When this happens- look out! (Now you know why the US Government will do NOTHING about the illegals- if they really crack down on the illegals- Mexico is likely to cut us off- with disastorous consequences to our economy.



Halliburton Corp. recently got a 380 million dollar (no bid, of course!) contract to build "detention facilities" in TX. Hmmm, I wonder what those are gonna be for? Facilities to detain 100's of thousands of people... . Some speculate that as Mexico's oil production collapses, (60% of the Mexican government' revenue comes from their state owned oil company, PEMEX) it will lead to MASSIVE immigration necessitating large detention facilities...

It's clear to anyone who wishes to investigate that the world is heading for dramatic changes. There is no question in my mind that we will see in our lifetime, a severe reduction in our standard of living. It is in all of our best interest to begin to prepare. I have started by having my 88 year old grandmother teach me to "put up" or can food. Yes, I believe it's that serious, I am learning how to CAN!

If you have it available, you will notice that Bio-diesel is now cheaper than dino. Dino here in Central Virginia is running 2. 89 and I filled up with B-5 for 2. 74 last night. I just bid fuel for our school bus fleet a week ago, in the 9 days between the bench mark date and opening, B-20 become . 10 per gallon cheaper. As manufactures jump in, the price will come down and it will be more widely available.

I, regularly, watch fuel (#2) prices on the Flying J website. Lately, there have been some unusual price differences.



I live in Phoenix & the prices here are generally more expensive than in the OK area. OK Flying J's are usually MUCH cheaper than in Phoenix.



Today (7/17/'06), some OK Flying J's are at $2. 89/9 per gal. &, here in Phoenix, it's $2. 81/9. I've noticed this happening, occasionally, during the last month, or so.



I'm wondering if, possibly, parts of OK are, now, getting ULSD & therefore a higher price & some of the cheaper fuel is still the LSD. I know that here in Phoenix, the fuel is LSD (550ppm sulphur) according to the signs on the pumps. I wonder if they are trying to encourage the sale of the LSD, in preparation of the arrival of the new ULSD?



Just a thought. Don't know, for sure.



Still can't believe diesel fuel is cheaper here than in OK!!!
