Mild winter = non-additized fuel?

Where I live there are usually just the dual gas/diesel pumps available. You know, the ones where the outlet is about 1" o. d. and takes for-freaking-ever to fill up.

With my new position with my company I'm not on the road between my home and Houston quite a bit so I get to stop at truck stops with the big mamajama outlets.

I filled up yesterday at a truck stop and it took less than 5 minutes. I barely had time to throw the trash out of my bin.

Usually I can wash the windshield, throw trash out, stretch, walk around, check my email, check TDR... you get the idea.

Those large outlet pumps are awesome!

I agree, some of the small pumps are super slow but it is rare. For the most part they are fast enough, you need the break anyway. I always round off to the nearest dollar so sometimes the big ones are too hard to control. They also actually pump too fast for the small fill tube on our trucks so you end up using a slower setting and end up pumping foam.

I like the slower pumps since they don't create as much foam in the tank and it's easier to fill the tank up to the neck and stopping the pump at an even dollar amount.

They do save some time, but I don't see any real benefit to this unless you are already late!! Sometimes there is a significant difference in price for using these pumps!! #@$%!

A lot of the truck stops that have a cash price that is lower than the credit price will only apply it to the high volume truck pumps for some reason...

When I still owned my own trucking company, I would use my card at the auto pump. It was a pain sometimes and was slow, but $0. 06 a gallon savings can add up pretty quick for a small business owner that's pumping in 200 or so gallons at a crack!!

They maybe faster and you get charged a little more for the product. I pulled in to the truck bay once and when they took my information they suggested that I pull to the car Island, the fuel is cheaper there. But what ever you like to do.

You should get a hold of one labeled "high volume/high pressure"... 60 gallons takes about a minute! Its like holding onto a fire hose...
