Well, she's gone. I bought it figuring I would have it for the rest of my life, but I got an offer that I couldn't pass on. I feel like I literally had the nicest 3rd gen in the county and I found a guy (or he found me) who appreciated it. The truck was like new and well equipped. The market on these things is pretty awesome right now. Pretty much all we used it for, was towing the toyhauler.

Since we hardly ever go camping anymore, I thought I may as well test the water and spread the word through friends, that I was thinking about selling it. When a friend of a friend came over to see it, as soon as I opened the garage door, it was pretty much over. The buyer was nice enough, to give me the night to think about it, to make sure I actually wanted to sell it. He said he had been looking for 6 months before seeing mine. I was asking $32,000,and he never hesitated to pay it.

Now, I will see if I can do as good on the toyhauler, since I don't have a tow rig anymore.

Hi Craig-

Are you still sticking around TDR land?

I remember the few TDR gatherings down in the Front Range and meeting you... enjoyed the banter. Apologies for not being as active as I was back then and not keeping in touch. AND... still appreciate the free bumper you gave me for my 2nd Gen Dodge...

I recall you had a sweet 1st Gen Dodge... (or is that your son's now??)

Hi Frank.

I will be sticking around until my membership expires. I don't think I'll be replacing the truck, so there will be no need for the membership I guess.

It's too bad enthusiasm for gatherings fizzled out. They were fun. It seems like none of us are nearly as active as we were.

We did have a really nice 1st gen. It was my oldest son's. We sold it a while back when he decided on something different. It's now in Canada.

Talk to you later.

I miss my first gen. It had the most comfortable bucket seats of any vehicle I have ever owned.
My third gen was a bitter disappointment in that regard.

I paid $35K for my 04. 5 and I loved the truck, I agree that the 04. 5-05 with the NV5600 is the best that Dodge offered to the public. My brother looked for 6 months trying to find just what you sold, but wanted a 2500. He asked me if I was willing to sell him mine, seeing how I had two CTD's and with 68K miles on the 04. 5, I sold it to him, for $19K, ;) after all, it is my brother.

$32,000 is insane. That's what I paid for my 04 new.

I paid a little over $33k for mine when I bought it new. I had a broker/wholesaler say he would pay me "$28-29" for it. He said a lot of guys want a clean 5. 9, not a 6. 7. I can't emphasize enough how ridiculously clean mine was. The front end wasn't pitted from gravel, it had never seen mag-chloride. Original windshield that was in excellent condition. The paint had never been buffed because it never needed to be. It really was practically new.

The May Madness rally continues. Sign up for it.

"They" can buy my 2004 with blueprinted NV5600 and lots of other stuff! I'm not even asking $32K for it!

I'll sell you the trans-- with bumpers, winches, Transfer Flow, FASS, twin turbos, and a couple other things attached, at half price, and throw the truck in for free.

The fact that you're posting on here shows that you don't feel right about selling it. You'll be back. .

I agree. I get to drive 3 different vehicles on trips to see family. One being my RAM in the sig and the other 2 are a minivan and a 5. 2 Durango. When I get into my puny (compared to what's out west) hills, i miss my ram. I mean I really don't need it- I don't tow very much, and the bed is usually empty. But, it is what it is and there's nothing else like it. Other people when they ride along, first off, can't believe it's a hand shaker (They still make those!?) and those who do know how to shift are like, "hey, don't you have to downshift- you're like in 5th gear!" and they're amazed at what 600@ 1600 feels like. LOL. And if I DID get a nuts offer or GOD forbidden stolen, I'm getting or building another one. I've had 'em since '97 and I still love it. My kids think it's normal. Others think I'm nuts

It's a disease. I love my truck.

How many of you--or your wives--name your Rams? Do you know anyone who doesn't realize that Rams are male sheep, and call the Ram "she?"
