Diesel Ramcharger?

Did dodge ever build such a beast? A friend of mine said he's seen one, but I don't know, I don't remember ever seeing one, plus, aren't ramcharger's all 1/2 tons?

Dodge had a diesel in 78 or 79 (Mitsubishi?) that was available in the trucks.



Yes, Ramchargers are 1/2 ton (maybe considered 1/4?).

The only diesel Ranchargers that I know of are ones that where converted to diesel. I don't believe that any where ever produced by the factory. Also the Ramcharger where listed as AW150's, so that would put them into the 1/2 ton catagory. My '87 was rated for 5600#.

My buddies dad had one of the half tons in the 70's. He sold it right before my buddy started driving. It was 2wd though, never remember seeing a 4wd diesel or ramcharger back then. There was a rumor about a dodge truck in this area in the early to mid 80's that someone put a Duetz turbo air cooled in with a 5 spd. from a school bus and it was supposed to be a real monster. Never saw it either. Oh well, missed another one.
