I'm a new member to TDR. I have a younger brother who lives near Columbia, South Carolina who bought my beautiful 99 Dodge Cummins SLT Laramie but he has very little or none at all understanding of how to work on his truck. I drive a 1998 12v which is a great Cummins for me. I have looked and looked but cannot find any diesel repair shops in the area for him to get his truck serviced and repaired when needed. Recently his throw out bearing went out and the Dodge Dealership told him it was his clutch & pressure plate and a new transmission (5 speed). I told him to get his truck out of there. I found a small shop that doesn't work on diesels but agreed to help him out. Because of their regular business of gasers his truck sat for 3 weeks before they got to it. I had already told him to check the throw out bearing first. I was blessed with some good friends who helped me trouble shoot the situation prior. The shop did a very reasonalbe and honest work for him but he needs a diesel shop that can trusted to perform 1st class work and pricing. Can any of you fellow Cummins owners recall or recomend a place for him to take his Cummins to? I appreciate you all looking at this.

*****Edited: It's Jenkinsville and it's closer to the western side of Columbia. I don't think it matters if a shop is nearby or with in 20 miles or so as long as we can find a good place to get his truck worked on. Thanks again for looking, if there isn't any Diesel Shops around then we are out of luck. Something else will come up that will help us.
