Article on GM 1/2 ton diesels

Think I'm gonna be sick!

Ok, I like the smell of diesel, but not on all my clothes! :-laf

So, I accidently threw a pair of jeans in with a load of sweatshirts and pants that had diesel on them, well now all my sweatshirts reek! I have washed them numorous times, and the smell just doesnt go away! Suggestions from my TDR peeps on this subject?

Well if your not using el cheapo laundry soap, then I would suggest a cup of Simple Green or Castrol Super Clean in the wash along with your clothes.

My dad is a millwright and my Mom has been washing his work clothes (Dickies) that way for over 10 years. Hasn't harmed the washer or the clothes... and it gets them clean.

woohoo! I thought about the simple green, but was worried about suds getting out of control, I will try that and see if it works, i hope so, as they stink so bad that it actually makes me feel ill wearing them.

Actually, probably going to use the old washer upstairs. I have new ones in the basement where I live, the old ones were left behind when my grandmother moved out a few years ago, I havent used them in 2 years, and they are as old as the house 30yrs, so if it breaks, not really out anything. :-laf

Simple Green????.....

ahhh... haaaa..... You remember the Brady Bunch episode where the kids do the laundry and soap fills the HOUSE!!!??? :-laf

Go to a strip club. No, wait, it's the other way around. Splash diesel on your clothes after the strip club.

Dunno. I was filling up the Chuby we have here at work and I got like a gallon of fuel on my pants leg when I tried to top it off and it blew out of the fill tube like a whale for some reason. Damn Chuby.

Luckily it was right before I was going home for the day, cause it was to the point of giving me a headache.

If you were on a ship in saltwater... . you could just tie a line to em... and throw em overboard and let them trail in the wake for about 10 minutes. Usually best when the ship is at full speed. :-laf :-laf

Something about the churning seawater... . gets jet fuels out right quick I guess.

I've never done this, but this was related to me by a friend of mine who was a grape (plane fueler) on the Eisenhower.

I used to clean sludge out of the bottom of above ground storage tanks with diesel fuel in some and #6 in others. It was just a lovely job. ;) We would use Borax to get the fuel that leaked through the protective clothing out of my pants. It really works.
