Sweet Sounds

Whatever !

So, if someone accidentally sprayed themself with diesel while installing their fuel pressure senders, how would this mystery person get the diesel smell OUT of their clothes?

It is reported that multiple washings don't do the trick.

Why would someone WANT to get the smell of diesel out of their clothes?... ... ... ... you may want to ask that person:rolleyes:

Actually, multiple washings will get the smell out.

While I was in college, I managed to get a good diesel bath while refueling a bus after a training run. Give them a good hand washing and line dry before you think about putting them in the machine. I think I had most of the smell out within two machine washings.

Diesel Perfume

Once upon a time there was this guy who was helping fill kerosene heaters when so called friend/boss accidentally pulled the nozzle out of heater and filled my - AH I mean this guys coat and pants pockets with the perfume-o-dinosaur #1. One washing in the driveway with Simple Green and a couple of washings with a little extra soap and they turned out pretty good.

BTW - It took about 6 months for friends car to air out to the point his wife would ride with him again:-laf

Soak the clothes a couple hours in a five ga bucket with half a cup Simple Green or Super Clean then wash them in the machine separately. What I hate is when #2 runs down your arm, though your armpit then down your leg into your boot.

If you think getting diesel outta your clothes is hard try getting it out of your hair. No matter how many times you wash your hair I guarantee the next morning your pillow will smell like diesel :D

illflem: agh that's gotta be awful.

gtop: I lucked out: I've got a shaved head. :D

I'll try simple green if the rewashing doesn't do it. Thanks everyone. :)

Hey Paul!

I'm glad to be posting again. My move to Oregon has kept me pretty busy. :D

And one more thing to add to this thread: damn I'm glad I wear glasses. I bet I would have had safety glasses on anway if I had my contacts in, but ow, I can only imagine was diesel in the eye is like.

I still think diesel on the skin is less irritating than gas, though.

gas completely dries your skin out. diesel is like varsol. it dries it out, but it takes much longer to do that. .

[post 300 for me Oo. :D]
