Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) diesel sound change

Before i bought my 01 HO i noticed it seemed a bit louder than the other trucks i drove. Now after 26000 miles it is much quiter. I asked the salesman when i bought the truck about that but was told that they(cummins diesels) never quite. Mine did . Is this normal? I'm talkin @ half the noise (inside the cab).

You know, I really can't tell. Since I installed the BHAF, removed the silencer ring, and lost my muffler it does seem a bit louder. But, quite honestly, with the windows up it does not seem any louder than before. I have become very accustomed to the sound it makes.



It did seem to run smoother and quieter when Jake let me test drive an EZ box a while back. Enough that the box will be the next addition. Oh, yea, the additional power was pretty cool, too.
