Pictures and Dyno numbers for DIESEL THUNDER in Spokane!

Diesel Drag races - August 18th - Salem, OH

The first "DIESEL THUNDER in Spokane" was a HUGE success!

First I would like to thank our sponsors:

Geno's Garage

Bully Dog Technologies

Diesel Transmission Technology

Piers Diesel Research

Edge Products

Jardine Exhausts

Northwest Custom

Dishman Dodge

Central 4 Wheel Drive

Terry's Truck Center

Power Vision Mirrors

I also want to thank Phil Shelley of Shelley's Automotive and Dyno Tuning for hosting this event. I think he has a new appreciation for Diesels, specifically the Cummins, he now want to provide Diesel performance modifications as part of his business.

I also want to thank Jason Burton of Northwest Custom in helping me organize this event, I know for sure that this event would not have been the success it was without Jasons help!

We had a great showing of both Dodge and Ford trucks and a Hummer.

Congratulations to all the winners of the 1st "DIESEL THUNDER in Spokane".

And "YES" Papa Joe finally got to Dyno his truck (Dodge), 283. 9 HP with 275's.

I wasn't able to get a count of people but we had somewhere around 50 to 60 trucks. For only 1 month of planning, I feel the event was a Huge success!

I talked with Phil Shelley afterwards, I asked him if he wanted to host another event next year, he smiled and said "YES"! Next year is guaranteed to by even better, and we'll have more time to plan for it!

Want to thank everyone for coming and making the event a success. We had people from Montana, Idaho, Washington including Western Washington and Piers and Bill Kondalay from British Columbia! I think everyone had a great time!

Looking forward to next year, we'll post the date as soon as we can.

Pictures are coming, will post as soon as possible.

THANKS TO ALL!

See you at BD Dyno Days on October 27th!

Big Bob

Sky,

The highest HP Ford was by Monte Slinkard with 290. 8 HP.

The lowest HP was the Hummer with 104. 9 HP.

The best part was being able to rekindle friendships and development new ones.

Hey guys... I'm in the process of getting the news pages up and the events forum is up at www.nwbombers.com so jump on over and let's get our northwest chapter site woke up.

Get me pics and all the other information you got, and it will be our first news article.

Thanks...

What a great time! Thanks to Big Bob and Kathy for their hospitality, and to Shelley's Automotive for having the event.

It was cool seeing what kind of power was being thrown down on the rollers. The scarry thing was seeing the axle twist on the high HP trucks. Looks like traction bars should be part of the BOMB list.

My truck dynoed 406. 2hp... not bad considering I'm still running the stock turbo and 3" exhaust pipe.

Thank you Big Bob for the event - your work, alone, made it happen.

The people at Shelley's were indescribable - (restrooms in their house !!?, these people are wonderful!!)

All you TDRs, and other others, who drove the distance - thank you !!

I got to dyno... ..... 284... ... yeah!!!

Joe

Thank You Rob Hanson (TDR extraordinaire) and ALL you fellows who helped last spring!!!!

Love and kisses, PJ

Hey Papa Joe, it was great seeing you again! I only wish I could have talked with you longer a little later in the day.

POSTED BY ME ON THE OTHER THREAD DAWG-1 STARTED ("Diesel Thunder in Spokane... Fantastic")

What a blast!

Many thanks to Bob and Kathy for their hospitality... at home as well as the event... you two are the best! :)

Also, many thanks to those that voted for my two wins... "Best Engine Compartment" as well as "Best Of Show".

..... the only thing that topped that was seeing many of my friends as well as meeting a few more. :) As they say, you can't have too many friends. :D I am sorry to say that I didn't get to talk to Papa Joe longer... he left before I could get a chance to talk to him again (one of the nicest gentlemen you will ever meet).

Also, a big thank you to Shelley Automotive, Big Bob and Jason Burton (NW Custom) for making this event not only a reality, but a success.

BTW Kondolay, YOU owe me dinner... not the other way around. :D A bet is a bet!

..... and none of that McDonalds Happy Meal BS either.

Also, did you show Greg (GKR) your carpentry skills yet?:p Make sure you show him the hole you cut out for the Smart Controller (using a chainsaw?). DOH!:eek:
