Way to kill the dyno Opie

track times

Okay, so Diesel Thunder was a well-run, fun event as always! :) It was great to see John Treibel back on the road with his fabulous, upgraded (again) "Blackout"!! Last win before retirement, I guess... :(

The racing was interesting... We got there too late to run brackets :){ , I love bracket racing! ), so ran for Times Only.

My first run was, of course, against Nathan (gulp, I hate losing) and went as follows: My 60': 1. 779, his: 1. 891; my 1/8 ET: 81. 67, his: 90. 74; My 1/4 ET: 13. 089 at 102. 52!! (on #2 only, of course! ), his: 12. 259 at 113. 46!! Now, my previous best was at Woodburn with a 13. 29 at 99+ mph...

My next run netted me a 12. 866 at 101. 97mph against Heberam who ran a 9. 445 at 91. 07.  Uh, could there be a problem with the lights there? Could it be from too much tire and exhaust smoke? I do enjoy a nice little burnoff... :D

My last run was 8. 292 at 101. 09 mph, this with a 3. 392 60' against Jason who turned a 14. 703 at 102. 24.

I'm not sure I'm going to rely on the results from that track, but if I'm running even that 13. 089 at 102 I'm one happy little camper!

Big Thanks to Big Bob and Kathy for their hospitality! It was really nice to see some of my old friends and make some new ones as well. Jason's numbers were off (I've seen him run 690+ ), but as always he was an excellent sport about it. :D Wonder if he got all that soot off his arms and face... ?;)

Rhonda kick my butt!

Rhonda has a nice way of saying she kicked poor old tired Heber's butt at the drags. .  What she didn't tell you was I had a 8. 25 reaction time and still did a 9. 445 quarter. . As we stagged, the old Heber was ready to launch... to launch... to launch... to launch, total smoke black-out in my lane from Rhonda's "boosting", couldn't see the tree, smoke cleared... Rhonda's halfway down the track, I now can see the green lite. . Ooooops. That's "ok", just give the old Heber another 1/8th mile of track and it would be all over... :D :D

Had a blast anyway... . The best racing was when we all took off to the track from the Dyno and leaving the track racing ( about 8-10 trucks) down I-90 in Spokane 12:00 PM at nite. I can honestly say, there are no longer any killer bees or West Nile virus in the Spokane area today... ,

back to reality

Well, I hit Pacific Raceways Wed. night for testntune... I was back to what I consider normal times: 13. 41-13. 44. That track is always slow, but at least my truck is very consistent, as usual!! :D I did beat a bike in the first round of brackets, but gave myself a red light in the second round...

Mr. Fletcher had his little 2WD PDR twin-driven truck there, and he's getting dangerously close to the 11's!! Oo. Still seems to be having traction issues (the biggest problem with running a 2WD, and an issue I personally don't have... :p )

I'll be at Mission this weekend hoping to get back down into the low 13. 3's (and wishing for a repeat of the 13. 2's ! ).

Diesel Thunder was sure fun this year.

I decided to watch the races fron the sidelines this time. I wanted to see the smoke from the stands... .  Rhonda can sure black out the lights... . ya gotta love those 9 second dark runs!

I think Running the **** out of my truck from portland to Idaho cleaned things out a bit. It sure ran great the next day.

I never would have thought I would see anything close to 453. 8 HP with a stock ETH Pump!
