My dad has a 93 reg cab 4x4 3/4 ton. A buddy was using it and put it in the trees and the cab is bad. We found a gas truck for parts, but I heard that the cab is different for clearance on the #6 valve cover. Is this true? If so can a body lift be put in to make it work? He's buying the truck for what it was worth before he smashed it, but I think I'm going to buy it from him... . if the price is right and I think it will be. It has under 100k on it, what a shame. I'd maybe make a mud truck out of it. Anyways, I just wanted to know if a gas cab would work or not. TIA

I'm sure a gas cab can be made to work as people swap ctd's into ramchargers and old crewcabs but you might want to look into a diesel cab a little more the mechanical parts sell well but I don't think cabs are high demand. Car-part.com lets you search wrecking yards,Ebay often has trucks being sold for the motors where the people buying them don't want the truck,and of course someone one the tdr may have one.
 
Why would Dodge build all those different cabs? Same cab period. Regular, extended gas or diesel. Parts trucks are great, gas or diesel, we ain't getting any younger, the trucks that is, although you guys rubbed it in real good about me turning 28...
 
My son jammed a Cummins 6bt into an S-10. You shouldn't worry about a few sq inches of possible sheetmetal interference. ;)

Firewall Cowl

I do classic car restoration, And one the pre war (WWII) it easy to tell in some swap the engine from standard straight 8 to super 8, most people don't realize that the cowl (firewall clearance is reset in the super 9 to give 2 inch clearaces)



So quick check on the fire wall tell one if the someone rebody a juior car with senior trim. It eacy enought to reset the fire wall, like the gur said 5 pound ledge. Hopefully a little neater.
