Diesel trans shop in N. TX?

I'm pretty sure my torque converter is cooking itself and I'm looking for a reputable, dependable transmission shop in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area - any ideas or recommendations?



114K on the truck - the TC has been making a weird whine at lockup under light throttle for about a month now and it does the crazy 1-2, 1-2 shift at light throttle. Lately it is doing a hard downshift from 2-1 occasionally. But this weekend while pulling the 5er on hills, or into the wind I could hear an engine-speed knock / scrape that scared the bejeesus outa me! Almost sounded like a rod - but all seems well with the motor.



Talking to SunCoast about a trans / TC - but maybe I could get by with new steels, new SunCoast valve body and a new TC (probably about the same price as a turn-key trans...



Anyway - shops?

Not too sure about your area, but if you go about 200 miles south on the 45 to Willis, Relentless Diesel could probably help you out.

Thanks Jim and Rd. Runnr... I spoke with James Northrum for about an hour this morning. Their/his approach makes the most sense to me - so it looks like the TDR guys have come through again - I appreciate the help!



P. S. it also looks like a full DTT rebuild, billet input shaft, DTT TC, AND Edge Juice w/ Attitude - now that should wake the beast (and get me a little better mileage too!). Thanks again!

what did he quote you for a price? Im really wanting a billet input, flexplate, tc and valvebody
