Is the Cummins ISX 600 any good?

Bad PS story

Past couple weeks diesel has been higher than gas. Today gas is at $ 1. 75. Diesel is at $1. 85. Its not even winter. Although it was 46 degrees this morning. Nor is harvest yet in full swing. What gives?

I've noticed here diesel has slowly been climbing... from 1. 59 to 1. 79... over the last 2-3 weeks. Gas is at 1. 85. Don't understand it either. :(

Sympathy

Come on over here and pay the local price of $2. 099 for diesel or $1. 899 for regular gas and you'll appreciate your local prices... It still sucks here in the NW... :{

Hey Gerry, it could be worse. We could be living in Cali. Have you gone to the Fife Flying J or the Arco just south of the J. Both are usually the cheapest around town.

Had been about $1. 69-1. 75 for diesel. Now, $1. 79-1. 92. Gas is about $1. 82-2. 05. First time I've seen diesel over $1. 80. This is BS!

Haven't been there in the past month, but the Flying J, which used to be the lowest, was 10 or 12 cents higher than the Chevron at the Duwamish "Y" back then. (Rob mentioned it on NWBombers back then) Haven't tried the Arco. The Texaco that was south of the "J" on the corner of 99, whenever I checked was always 10 or 15 higher than the "J". . wondered if they ever sold any diesel. Where is the Arco ?. .

I don't know where you are, but the Chevron at 152nd and Pacific Highway S about a mile north of Seatac is traditionally about the lowest... Gerry

okay there was a post at somepoint about gas price trend and it showed a chart on when gas/diesel goes uup and down in price.

if i remember correctly the chart showed diesel going up in march and lasting till near the end of may and then down again and then roughly 3rd week in july thru aug. up again by sept. should be down again. it's a web page somewheres but those are the months that diesel spike up to 89 oct. prices if not higher.

So very right. Just filled up yesterday. $2. 13 was the best I could find in my area.

The cheapest that I have been able to find it here in Denver (all year!) was last week for $1. 759, has since gone up to 1. 799. Two or three local stations to my home have never dropped below $1. 939. Granted there have been a few stations that have been a bit lower, but I will not buy from them due to volume issues (have never seen a diesel powerd vehicle in their lot - I want clean fuel).

Kind of funny since the price of crude dropped through the floor a few weeks ago.

It is hard to feely sorry for you folks paying under $2. 00/gal when I am paying $2. 25/gal :{ in Kodiak. Sure wish you could ship some of that cheaper fuel my way

Off Road Diesel hasn't changed price.....

I bought my truck in April, and Diesel fuel was 1. 68 at the pump, and 1. 23 for off road. Gasoline was approx 1. 85 a gallon.

Now, off road diesel is 1. 22 a gallon (I buy it every month for my tractor), diesel at the pump is 1. 87, and gasoline is 1. 89.

It seems to me, that as gasoline has come down from it's all time high here of 2. 19 a gallon down to 1. 89, the diesel has been going up to "compensate" for it?

I think it sucks, as on the Indian Res, it's been 1. 66 since I bought the truck, hasn't gone up one red cent.

I think that we are just getting screwed. When I mention the off road diesel at the station, I just get a blank stare, like it's a different fuel or something.

I guess PA just caught 19 people using off road in the CTD's towing fifth wheels on route 80 recently, so I'll probably not risk putting the red stuff in my truck any time soon :(

I'd love to see some politician take care of this, but that's truly a dream. The little guy just keeps gettin screwed.

Yeah what I don't understand is how Diesel is the same or higher than gas prices. Diesel is not as refined as gas. It used to be that diesel was around 20cents cheaper a gallon and now its about the same price. Its been about a 1. 85 in my part of Denver until just recently when I've been able to get it for around 1. 77. When I can I wait until i have to go to Longmont and get it for 1. 65. I think the local stations or whoever makes that decision realizes they don't have to sell it for that much less and we're getting screwed over. Just my paranoid opinion.

My next door neighbor is a small independant gas station. He said LPG (propane) has jumped 20¢ per gallon in the same time frame diesel jumped 10¢ per gallon. Propane is supposed to go up another 20¢ per gallon by month's end. He was told to expect $2 per gallon heating fuel this winter.

The local seasonal adjustment always stabs us around 10% but this does not sound good.

If the prediction holds true, I expect to see red ... in my tank.

Well for what it's worth, the two stations that I normally buy fuel from just jumped from $1. 759 to $1. 959. Premium unleaded is $1. 920

WTF!!!

Have govt programs for oil exploration (or technology investments) been radically cut-back this year?

I wonder if the companies are basically making that money back?

Anyone work at a refinery? What are production levels at?
