I just want to politely point out that fuel prices are run to three decimal places, much like stocks. The only two things I can think of right now. But anyhow, the price would actually be $2. 099, not $2. 09/9. Nit picking, I know, but if it's informing...

Topped off for $1. 999 here in Alamo, Ca. Reg unleaded is $2. 099. Most places are much higher. Never thought I'd be happy to pay $2. 00/gal for diesel. Sure beats $2. 499.

Filled up yesterday just across the state line into MO for KS (3miles away), $1. 74 for #2. Regular unleaded was $1. 59.

Anyone ever run biodiesel and what does it cost?

Yeah, I priced it a couple of months back in the Seattle area and was quoted $3. 69 a Gal. T  hey would give price breaks if you bought certain amounts within a specific time period. I don't remember the specifics. I couldn't get past the first quote. I would have no problem running it if it were priced within reason. All they had available was 100%. I don't know if there would be a problem running it in winter. A blend might be preferable

Diesel and home heating oil are similar products. When it's cold in the NorthEast, diesel prices will be higher. Mostly, I think it's greed. Natural gas climbs when other fuel prices go up and natural gas is not dependent on refining crude oil. Greed.

What are we willing to pay?

I was told that a hurricane in africa took out an under water pipeline supplying the sweet crude used to make diesel. This in turn pushed prices up as supply weakened. This was from a source in the petroleum industry. I dont know if its true, but it did seam to that the prices went up shortly after the outbreak of hurricanes.

Well I figured I'd try and make you all feel a little bit better, Here in Victoria BC, Canada a liter of diesel is going for $0. 89 (just came down . 05) so if I do the conversion correctly 1 US gal =3. 79ltrs. So 1 US gal = $3. 37 CDN, and if I use an exchange rate of $0. 83 that makes me paying the equivalent of $2. 80 US, down from $2. 96 :--)

Most of the Speedways in my area, except one is still 209. 9 for diesel, all the other stations are 186. 9 to 190. 9,I guess the Speedway diesel has gold nuggets built in. .

I just payed $2. 149 tonight and thats the cheapest around. Some places are still around $2. 359. Regular gas on the other hand is around $1. 82 and high test is in the high $1. 90's.
