Detroit Auto Show

Oops - forgot the Valet Switch...

How many members have it  Watched Dr. Phil today and he stated that most people had some form of obsessive compulsive disorder. Well after the show I came down to check the TDR out and realized I had "Diesel" obsessive compulsive disorder. Oh well I think it is better than being constipated :p Plus I learn something new everyday and hang-out with people with my same disease. ;) Do you think something in the #2 diesel causes this?

"Do you think something in the #2 diesel causes this?"

NO!!!!!

As I sit here and type, I smell like diesel, taste diesel, and hate diesel. But I had to sign on as soon as I got home, just to see what the boys were talking about. This stupid computer and internet is obsessive. ( I drink for the flavor):D :D :D

The Wife quit up there. They were scheduling her to work every weekend and we didn't need the money that bad. LOL She is currently looking for something that is either 5 days a week or only 2 weekends a month and preferably no Sundays. I've drove a white 99 Quad cab Dually 4x4 that is a clone to our truck and I drove a 2001 silver quad cab dually 4x4 with black leather. They aren't willing to give me anything on trade for my Suburban so I'm thinking of selling it and buying another truck outright. Although I had a guy hit me up this morning that is wanting to sell a 1996 LT1 350 out of a wrecked Vette that would give the old Burban a little more power and mileage. The old TBI 350 in the Burban is a good engine but is severely lacking in the power department. Especially compared to our Dodge. :D

Nice trucks I hope you get one I love my duelly. I saw a 2003 3500QC 4x4 silver with tinted windows and no muffler up at Big Al's truck stop on 65 hiway today. Wow that was a good looking truck and it sounded great. Kind of a quiet rumble at idle but real throaty when he pulled out. You could definiately hear the Cummins. I was impressed. All of the other 03's I have heard, have been way to quiet for my taste. Let me know when you get your new truck, I would like to see it. We need to get all of the members in this area together. I think there are 4 or 5 of us now. I met Sam Porter a member from Cartage Missouri last weekend in Marionville for breakfast. Great guy with a lot of diesel experence. Keep me posted.

Hehe... That's what we all are, Diesel Obsessive Compulsive Disorder support group...

It feels good to be around people with the same problem. :D

Not the only disorder

We also suffer from BOMBing's Disease. Symptoms usually follow a loose but familiar pattern:

- the need to smell diesel, to see the truck one last time before going in the house, emotional response to hearing the truck start first thing in the morning.

- advanced symptons include: lighter wallets, restructuring of the budget, dirty hands, acquisition of new tools, requesting that the TDR be put on the honey-do list.

- remission usually occurs after the first set of injectors and the fueling box are installed. This period can endure as little as a week or in exceptional cases, up to a year, when the victim succumbs to a more advanced stage of the disease and the whole vicious cycle is repeated. At this point, divorce and the sale of the house are considered do-able alternatives. Oo. Oo. :-laf

Yeah, I mentioned to my wife that we needed to buy some DD2 injectors for the truck, but that I'd have to put an upgraded clutch in at the same time. She asked why. I told her that the guy in our RVing group who just bought a new PowerStroke was catching me on the hills during our last outing (his 5ver is 3000-4000 lbs lighter than ours). Her response was, "Oh, OK. Well, if we need them, go on and buy them. " ;) :D
